AA Sending CR7s From LAX-ORD

Thu Jun 02, 2016 8:18 pm

It seems AA is sending CR7s from LAX-ORD today and tomorrow (and maybe after that).

Maybe Mike Rowe is booked on AA LAX-ORD, and the folks at AA decided to surprise him!

AA's CR7s used to fly LAX-ORD all the time - through OKC

Looking at AA.com flight 2576 is scheduled to be operated by a 738. Must be a flightaware glitch.

Flightaware's glitches strike again! The CRJ-700 does not have the range to fly that route without a stop. MQ used to fly ORD-SLC before SkyWest currently flies the route now with CRJ-700's. When Envoy had a hub in LAX, the CRJ's used to fly from LAX to OKC, XNA, IAH, DEN, and other airports that made the trans-con flight possible for one aircraft with a stop in between.

Also, AA flight numbers up to 2599 are always operated by mainline equipment.

There are always glitches, Flight Aware 24 said that a UA LAX-EWR flight diverted to TEB a week or 2 ago.

That's FlightRadar24. Two different things.

Oops, I knew that. Brainfart?? My point however was that mistakes happen and if something doesn't look right it probably isn't. After seeing it on FlightRadar24, I looked on FlightAware (and then UA's website) to confirm that it was a glitch.

I might switch to AA. This is a nice upgrade from the usual ERJ-135 that UA puts on this kind of route

I remember several years ago I flew on a CRJ from SLC to Columbus. I am tall, so when I stood up I had to duck. However, surprisingly I found the seats to be spacious.

AA*/SkyWest did run extra flights thru ABQ on 01Jun: 2992 ORD-ABQ and 2962 ABQ-LAX. Appears this was an aircraft positioning move to get a SkyWest CR7 from ORD to LAX.

You must be mixing your routes. The ERJ goes on EWR-LHR while Saab 340s do LAX-ORD

One of the more interesting things I remember about TEB was the US 1549 ditching - the control tower cab conversation at TEB. I remember the main controller being contacted by "MW" about 1549 landing at TEB. The controller on the phone/radio said, basically, "OK". But the the background you could hear another controller or supervisor saying "he can't land here!?!"
