Caac Pulls Out Of New Zealand

Sat Feb 10, 2001 6:20 am

CAAC has announced it is no long to fly Auckland (AKL) - Sydney (SYD) - Shanghai (PVG) - Beijing (PEK) or vv

Instead the flight which originates in PEK will terminal at SYD and then they are going to codeshare with Air New Zealand SYD - AKL and vv

They haven't been flying to NZ for long, but when they did start flying here, they only gave 3 days notice that they were going to start flying here.

I think one reason that they haven't done so well in New Zealand is because the Travel Wholesalers got so pissed off with the service from their GSA here that they refused to quote, ticket CA flights.

Airbus A3XX

I called it that as most of the people know them of that!

It also stops the confusion with CI of Taiwan

Sweet as Jase, you'll probably be aware that Lufthansa Cargo will begin services, Eva is pulling out and MH is moving back to 744s instead of 772s

Air China started flying to AKL in July 2000, and I am always sad to see any airline pulling out but happy when one begins flying in, and I've never known them as CAAC.
Where did you here that EVA is pulling out as they only just reinstated there own services to AKL.
How about Lufthansa cargo where did you find out that they are begining services to AKL and when will it be and with what aircraft.

I heard this from a good friend that works at NZAA as flight dispatcher so he has the latest timetable & info for NZAA.......I don't know which aircraft, but I would presume MD11 .

I just knew Air China will end up pulling out of AKL! A few years back, China Southwest had a weekly A340 service to Auckland and that ended in a VERY short time. It is sad to see airlines pull out of AKL, but is EVA Air really going to pull out?!
Whatever happended to Air NZs plan for a Auckland-Brisbane-shanghai service? It could well go ahead, given that AN dont fly there themselves anyumore.

this will be the second time EVA will have pulled out of NZAA in about 3 years...I remember China Southwest...I was out there when it made it's maiden voyage here. It is sad, but with codeshares there isn't much the airlines can do if the market isn't big enough for two plane loads.

IF EVA are pulling out, who are they intending to codeshare with?

Could this new code-share agreement with ANZ be another step on CA´s way into Star Alliance? They also have some code-shares with LH and i heard that Star wants CA to join them. The only problem so far seem to be quality standards that CA can´t guarantee yet. So, what do you think? Will we see CA in Star within a few years?

EVA Air will codeshare with Air NZ as they have done for the past few years, but I can't believe they are pulling out as according to Air NZ's northern summer shedules Air NZ will operate just 2 763's a week to Taipei currently NZ and BR operate 2 flights each.
China Southwest back in 99 operated 4 flights before pulling out.
I don't know about Air NZ to China but hopefully oneday they will fly there in the not to distant future.

Where about's did these China Southwest flights go to? They are based in Chengdu, and I doubt they would have been to there.

Airmale,

I've tried before to explain that CI and CA are as much the same as CX and SQ !!!.
