Does anyone have any experience travelling with Star Alliance to multiple destinations on one ticket? Or is this even possible? Is this expensive? Specifically, would it be possible to travel from YVR to Auckland, Sydney, Perth and back? And could you route the way you wanted.......eg. via LAX, HNL or Singapore?

You get Star Alliance round the world tickets which are good value, and Singapore Airilens does this ticket called "Star Lite"(Im sure only SQ have this product, but it could be with other Star partners too). It will probably work out just the same if you were to get a round the world ticket , that would basically be Air Canada/Air New Zealand/Ansett for your Canada-Australia services, and the perhaps Singapore Airlines/Lufthansa/SAS for your Australia-Singapore-Canada return.

THAI Airways is also currently advertising its round the world campaign trip. The flight leaves Bangkok to various destinations in Europe, Los Angeles, then many points in Asia/Pacific Rim, Down Under, and finally ending up spending the time in the paradise of Thailand resorts.

I do at least one round the world a year on Star Alliance and have never had a problem (in the long run it is less money then buying ticekts to all these places). On one ticket I have done IAD-LHR (UA); LHR-JNB (LH); JNB-SIN (SQ); SIN-SYD (SQ); SYD-SFO (UA): SFO-IAD (UA). and never had a problem. I have never heard of "lite" but the round the world has been very good. SQ actually recognizes that you are Golden in Star Alliance. Of course, UA treats you the worse.

Star RTW Lite is sold only in certain countries in Europe, Asia and Australia, not the US. There is also a Star Airpass for non-European residents travelling within Europe. The777Man
