The seats are pretty comfortable, and you have personal screens. The food sucks (for Business class, anyway). Trying to get a German flight attendant to smile is a challenge.

That pretty much wraps it up.

It's true, the food sucks. I have not flown on it on a 747, but an Airbus. It was inter-europe, so I am sure it was not as nice.

Since LH's First Class is on the upper deck, try to get a seat in the nose!

Seats in rows 1-3 are probably the most comfortable ones.

Unfortunately, LH Business can't be compared with the likes of SIA or CX...

Post a trip report anyway!!

Have a nice trip,

really do get a seat as far in the front as possible, it´s mcuh quieter upfront.
however, i´ve always really enjoyed LH´s food and it´s menu and wine collection in biz and first, imho, is excellent...
i agree about the cabin attendants, but only in economy. although i stumbled across many unfriendly LH cabin attendants, i never did so in biz...

enjoy your flight!!!

daniel

It is a nice experience, the food is okay, the flight attendents also and the seats are good. First class is better though!

I flew LH Business Class from EWR to FRA in 1998. The plane was the A340 and I came back to JFK on a 747
series -400. The food wasn't horrible (it was average,
but could have been better for Biz class). The planes
were both spotless. The service was efficient and on
most occasions, curteous, but nothing more. Cabin
crew weren't all that interested in anything more than
getting their job done and yes, sure they could have
smiled once in a while, but honestly, I didn't care.

I found the Biz class obviously more comfortable than
LH's horrible Economy, with its tiny seats, zero legroom
and if you want to experience the very worst of LH's
service, you can sit in the back.

To me, LH is neither good nor bad. I wouldn't go out
of my way to fly it, but similarly, I would not avoid
it either. Nothing special, memorable, or truly amazing.
There are better carriers to Germany.

I've flown Lufthansa Business trans-atlantic plenty of times and love it (even the food, but then again I'm German...)!!! The seats are comfortable, the Inflight entertainment great and of course a super selection of Beverages!!! Ask for a cockpit visit early into the flight and if you hit it off with the Pilots ask for the ever so wanted Jum Seat for the landing in FRA... Make sure you get time to visit the Business class lounges at the airports, they are beautiful... Have a great one and please post a trip report!!!

Singapore or Air New Zealand have nothing to worry about - LH business is good, not great. The food is not great, but on the 744, their business class is downstairs; if you sit in the "nose", its great, a unique 747 experience where you sit on an angle and see out of the windows of both sides of the plane, very nice on take off and landing. Enjoy your trip.
