Do I Smell A Post About To Be Deleted !

BA has cancelled all their options for any future 757's and has begun selling them out to airlines that actually have a proper business plan. They are getting rid of ten and another 8 are imminent. That would reduce their 757 fleet size from 51 to (you do the math). They are replacing them with another boeing product. The 737-400 that they already own.

It looks to me as soon as the 59 A319/A320 planes begin arriving the 757's will be replaced entirely. BA has otions on 129 of the small Airbus'. Boeing has indeed lost another customer. Americans should start looking for a place to bury it's fallen warrior. We could dig a hole next to McDonnel Douglas and Locheed.

I agree.

Why the "stinks"

Couldn't you just have asked "Are BA axing the 757"

But...

Mon May 31, 1999 8:18 pm

... they're also buying a large 777 fleet and have a huge 747 fleet already. I wouldn't rule out BA as a significant Boeing customer for the forseeable future. I certainly hope not, anyway.

Yes, I agree with David. Let's not get too sentimental about Boeing and it's troubles. Boeing will get it's act together and continue to build aircraft for a long time to come. Why, you guys are so affraid of Airbus, aren't you ?

p.s. Jetpilot, I know you're just winding us up.

I think you're right, Ice Cream Man. I just walked right over a wind-up. I'm so naive :)

Boeing Still Has BA...

Mon May 31, 1999 11:31 pm

... as it was reported that BA were to expand their 777s fleet up to constitute about half of its whole fleet!

Yeah, no A330s and 340s in BA colours in the near time to come.

I'm just trying to inject a little humor. I have a real sick sense of humor. Eh !! Just ignore me most of the time. I'm sorry it came at your expense.
