How's Northwest World Business Class? They boast 150 degree recline seat, PTV, 72" (?) seat pitch. Sounds very good to me given the price.
Anyone has tried this new World Business Class? How does it compare to UA's or SQ's business class? I mean in terms of both seats and services.

Also, SQ is going to re-launch it's business class in the next few weeks....... flat bed seats among other things. Of course, naturally they must want to beat BA, their sworn enemy. Actually I don't know why SQ and BA hate each other so much; whatever one does, the other will try to match or even better. They only compete on SIN-LHR, SIN-MEL and SIN-SYD. and even then, SQ offers more frequencies on the above routes than BA does (excluding codeshares)

What's the reason they hat eachother? And since when? Because they even shared a Concorde with double livery between SIN and LHR in the late 70's.

I haven't flown SQ or UA, but I have been on the new World Business Class.
It was only a short flight from MSP to DTW, but it was a newly configured DC-10. The seats are extremely comfortable, heavily padded, and very easy to sleep in! They served us a snack, which to my surprise was actually very good! It was a focaccia sandwhich with turkey, cheese, lettuce blah blah blah.
Anyway, it's not SQ (from what I hear), but for a US carrier, and the price I can't complain!

The seats on NW are comfortable, and I believe the pitch is 60", not 72".
The recline is 150 degrees.
The inflight service is okay. The PTVs are old, the sound system is great, the food is what you'd expect on a US airline.
