UA Pax Down 9 %

Fri Jul 06, 2001 2:51 am

A report was released stating that United has dropped 9 % in passengers. They claim it is due to a reduction in business travel and the economy.

When will UA finally admit that it is also due to their frequent flyers leaving UA due to poor service? They need to finally be honest about the effect their lack of service over the years.

Take another look, United's traffic is only down .9 percent, not 9%. This decrease in load factor is pretty consistent with what all the majors will likely post this quarter.

You do bring up a good point though, United could find better ways to save money than cutting out perks from the high paying pax. Oh well, the market will show whether they made the right choice.

Tony Burr:

Yes, UA's load fell by only .9%, NOT 9%. But based on a review of your posts, I have a few questions for you:

Has any United employee, like, ever mugged you and stolen your wallet at some point recently? Has a gang of United ramp workers ever broken into your house and kidnapped your daughter or somethin? Did you catch some UA pilot having an affair with your wife? Did a group of mischievious flight attendants place a "kick me" sign on your back at O'Hare recently? I mean, really, what is this shit?

I ask because you seem to harbor such an odd hatred for that company like no one else can. It's like every single one of your posts is anti-United this, anti-United that. If your company supposedly "forces" you and your co-workers to use United, then what's the big deal? You're travelling on THEIR dime, not your's. Right? Just get on the plane, buckle in and shut up will ya!

I'm sick of all of the juvenile whining. Now, enough!

Actually, it can all be attributed to people blaming United for poor weather in Denver and Chicago O'Hare. See, people at WHQ love to piss off their customers, so they hire warlocks and witches (dating back to the days of the druids) to cast spells over EACH of their hubs in hopes of cancelling EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT... and the employees are just children of satan himself... if you look closely on the back of every United employee's head, you'll see a small hole on each side.. that's where their horns go.. see, they push them in when they clock in to give the appearance that they are nice, when in all actuality, they want to piss off as many of you as possible!

Delta is doing pretty bad huh?? I thought they would be increasing in passenger loads, not decreasing!!
It is amazing how you see UA in front of AA and DL, and yet AA and DL are always in front of them in surveys!!

Good to see Continental and USAirways up there. People always say that USAirways is a really good airline!!

One thing that may be slewing United's numbers is the fact that last summer was the Summer from Hell. They had cancelled a ton of flights I think. Maybe this wasn't happening yet in June though. These numbers do make United look comparably strong to Delta and American.

All I can say in my own experience with United is that it is really pathetic. My company sends highly sensitive cargo to Phoenix from San Francisco twice a day, seven days a week. We used to use Southwest, but they left SFO and moved to Oakland. Little did we realize the problems this would bring. Doing business with United has been one frustrating incident after another. I'm the transportation coordinator and I have found the United personnel incredibly unprofessional, uncaring, and totally inconsistent. We will do anything to make sure our shipment arrives on time and safe. We have had so many incidents of sloppy service, that I have had to go out to the small parcel desk myself just to see for myself. I have contacted Chicago and they admitted there was a problem. I have to rarely fly with UA -and am I'm glad! I don't expect much, but UA has problems! I do know there are UA employees that work hard, but so do I. Ditch the slobs! Southwest employees were focused and knew their jobs.
