Mine is Southwest:

1. One class seating arrangement.
2. No assigned seating.
3. Quick turnarounds.
4. Great employees.

I also like JetBlue:
1. They have PTVs.
2. Great employees.


JetBlue isn't like other startups, they are making profits, I think in a few years they will become a major airline.

Reno Air also had good service, too bad American Airlines took them over.

Ansett Australia, I got great flights at fantastic prices, global rewards points and double points on SYD-HKG part of the trip.
Impulse Airlines B717 was great from MEL-SYD with complimentary coffee.
Debonair from LTN-BCN was also good.
My favourite no frills airline is Go-Fly, I prefer them to easyJet, their staff are more highly trained.
I've heard good things about Buzz (buzzaway.com), they aren't in the UK domestic market, I hope to go with them to XRY.

In Europe my favorite is by far easyJet. New planes, to major airports, and cheap fares.

AirTran. They have flights to five destinations from PHL, more than any other small carrier.

United Shuttle. I like the shuttle because they have special boarding on their planes there oldest 737 is a 300. Alot of leg room. The most conveinent departure times to reach conecting flights. Complementery headphones. Pretty much all flights continue service so if your hoping around cali,oregon,washington,or other western states you have a great price with out a hassle. I LOVE SHUTTLE BY UNITED

Simply the best at what they do - and because of what they don't do. Unlike their major airline competitors, WN promises only what it can deliver and therefore delivers what it promises. No-nonsense yet fun-loving airline. To fly with WN is to understand why they are consistently rated #1 in customer satisfaction - it's their People - in spite of all the amenities they don't offer.

#2 - United Shuttle:

One experience, PHX-DEN, was altogether satisfactory - very pleasant, professional check-in and inflight staff, on-time departure and arrival.

I like Southwest Airlines, they have good fairs, good service and alot of destinations, they are on time and a very friendly staff.

Although I never flew Midwest Express I heard that they are the best

Westjet!!!!! It's made a profit ever since it began. It went from only 5 aircraft 5 years ago to having over 20 with orders for over 90 new 737's. It currently is the most profitable airline in Canada!!

I agree with most other posters in that I think Southwest is the best Low-Fare airline. Great service, friendly crew, and plenty of destinations for not a lot.

Definatley Westjet!!!! They are Canada's version of Southwest airlines. They have firm orders for 26 737-700's and will be leasing 10, with option for another 50.
I've flown Westjet several times as I live in YYC and my father lives in YVR. Service is excellent and they are always on time (unless there's weather delays). They're based out of the City I live (YYC) and have grown phenomanally. I can't wait to ride on one of their new 737-700's !!!!!

as for the uS, havent flown with any of them, hear that american west are good, are they low cost?

for europe, GO are excellent, they are more money than ryanair which is the biggest(and britains second biggest airline, yes its know based i the UK!) yet they have better service and i havent expericened delays- i have with ryanair!

with ryanair i flew with them before they went really cheapo-what a mistake!the flgiht attendent, instead of giving out the peanuts, gave them to the people at the front to pass back!

the other flight attendent serving refreshments decided to throw the packets of snacks at people to catch, unfortunately she didnt have a good aim and managed to hit my neighbour with a packet. I have never seen anything like this in all my life!

My parents flew with them a couple of weeks ago, ryanair managed to miss their slot at standsted and decided to just fly around until they got dizzy! lol, no seriously, my parents were delayed for 3 hours by them and a 1hr 20 min flight turned into 2 hours! seeing that they were only flying to shannon in ireland i thought that a 3 hours delay because the plane was sent to the wrong airport was a bit much!

as for easyjet, another low-cost carrier, well what can i say?

I flew with easyjet from london luton(londons 4th airport) to Liverpool speke. It was a sit anywhere policy, which i thought was a good idea. the seat was comfortable and from what i could see was a new 737. The flight on the way out was quite good, no throwing of snacks, just a little cute trolley with refreshments you could buy, at high street prices. the f/as were friendly and very apologetic when i complained that they had run out of airline models, they gave me a free drink. so i was happy ish and thought, oh for 2o pounds, they are ok, good value.

anyway spent my day in liverpool, visiting the uni and the town, great place by the way. Got back to liverpool an hour and 30 mins before it was due take off, you had to be there 1/2 hour beforehand if i recall.

so checked it, went up to the cafes and shops and waited and waited.15 mins before we were due to take off i wondered when we were going to start boarding, so i went up to the nearest member of staff who said she didnt know and would get back to me.

Anyway we were called to the gate. so i thought oh well a couple of mins wont hurt.We sat down and waited and waited. 50 mins had past and nothing, not one annoucement and we should have been in luton by now.no apology no nothing.

well i found two members of staff and asked and we finally borded about 15 mins after that.

anyway we are now sitting on the aircraft and i noticed there was engineers on the ground, more than normal , i thought hold on were are about to take off. we didnt. in fact we were taken off the plane and put on another easyjet plane due to techincal difficulties, the reason was that the plane as landing, decided to run down a couple of seagulls, one was splatted on the front screen apparentely and the other one was caught up in an engine and it was decided that as abird strike had happened better safe than sorry...

so we borded and then took of, one mention of the word sorry, that was it. I asked and asked until they said what the real reason was. I then waited for the refreshments trolley, it didnt come-they had left it on the other plane, along with the airline models. oh dear.

well we got to luton and i was not going to take no for an answer-low cost or not nobody has that level of incompetence and doesnt appear to be remourseful. I managed to get an airline model out of them and they said it would be on its way, it took them 4 weeks, by then i had a mousemat out of them as well.

so easyjet arent my favourite people, i have also watched airline, a docu-soap all about them, my godness im not flying with them again.

as for buzz, never flown with them , heard they are quite good.

Jetblue and Southwest

The fleet is new and flight attendants are really kind!!!!

1. America West
Low fares, ( Usally lower than WN) good service And NON-Stops

2. EasyJet Love the fact I can book em on my laptop and pay a great fare around Europe.

1. Southwest. I am a Rapid Rewards member and play with their stock from time to time. Reliable low fare service.

2. AirTran. Back from oblivion...the critter that wouldn't die....not even Delta could kill it and God knows they've tried.

Special dishonorable mentions:

1. America West. Poor service. Poor operations. And low fares only where they compete with WN. You think they are a low fare airline? Try pricing a roundtrip PHX-COS-PHX...about a 1 hr 20 minute flight. Walk up fare will set you back nearly 1200 dollars. That's not a low fare airline.

2. Vanguard. They mean well, but they just don't have it. I tried riding them MCI-DFW last year, every week. I would book myself on their 9 pm flight from MCI to DFW on a Thursday night. Over a five week period the earliest we ever left was midnight. So, I did what any sane person would do...I started buying tickets MCI-OKC and OKC-DAL doing the Oklahoma City Shuffle on WN.

I've been on most of the domestic low fare carriers and the best is JetBlue, hands down. It's hard for me to believe that anyone who has been on JetBlue would disagree. As for America West, I must agree with Tex. Not only are they a poor excuse for an airline, they are far from a low fare carrier. You need to be a masochist to fly them. If you love to be tortured and are willing to pay highly for the privilege, then HP is the airline for you.
