A question about Aeroplan miles and Air Canada

Tue Jun 28, 2016 5:39 pm

Im having trouble explaining how aeroplan miles work. Someone in my family will be taking a plane trip this summer and they might fly Air Canada. So I assume what you need to do is make an aeroplan account, and when booking the flights you use your account info?

Another question I have is that you don't need an credit card when using aeroplan? If someone could explain the process of how to get miles off air Canada flights using aeroplan when booking I would appreciate it. thank you.

The AC FFP is kind of divided into two programs, Aeroplan and AC Altitude. In order to join the Altitude program, you need to sign up for an Aeroplan account first.

When you sign up for Aeroplan, you'll get an account number, simply add the number when it asks you during the booking process and your points will automatically be credited to your account once you've completed the flight. These points will also automatically be added to your AC Altitude account (which will be the same number as your Aeroplan). Thats all there is to it, it works just like any other FFP.
