AA, flown both short-haul & long-haul on them 10+ times and only had one small complaint (rude FA on LAX-LHR once). BA's short-haul is fine but their long-haul feels low-budget. DL is pretty oK I guess but I still prefer AA. Haven't flown on any of the others on that list as of yet (except 3 LH flights 9 years ago). :)

I currently fly WN monthly: SAN-SMF; and once to MDW in November.
AA is my pick for summer international travel to Latin America.

Years algo when I flew mothly to Portland, OR-Alaska was my choice.
I flew Jet Blue for the first time last summer: Ft. Lauderdale to Cartagena-great experience.

I've flown all those airlines except KE and PR, given that they serve wildly different markets (some domestic US airlines and a few international such as EK) it's pretty hard to compare them fairly. Having said that, I would rank them as follows, taking what is expected from the market demographic in the first place into account (in order from best to worst):

B6
WN
BA
EK
AS
KL
DL
LH
UA
AA
AF
NK

These are purely from personal experience, and thus anecdotal. I've heard some oretty bad reviews about some of the airlines near the top, such as BA, and of course some good ones about some further down (aside from Spirit that is ;) ). All my longhaul flights with BA in the past year have been good though, most in Y and one DXB-LHR leg in J. My judging of AF might also be unfair as I've mostly just flown domestic with them.

Any particular reason for this exact list of airlines though? Just curious.

Regards! Sveinn :)

Yes, there's nothing quite like the seclusion. Emirates get close with their private suites, though.

Out of that list the only airline I've ever flown is KLM. No, that's not entirely correct. I've flown KLM Cityhopper, which is a sub-airline of KLM. Never flown KLM mainline. All the others I've got no experience with, so I'll have to make my judgement based on the image that I got from these airlines.

I'm a real low-cost enthusiast so therefor I'd pick Spirit to be first. They're the only true LCC in this list. Then I think JetBlue second place as they're a semi-LCC. The rest are all legacies, they don't bother me much. I have flown legacies, but honestly I can't see the more value of them. You get a few things for free that aren't free on an LCC, but given how much more expensive the legacies are those few "free" things are quite high priced and mostly I don't even make use of it.

Would be different if this were the list:

Aer Lingus
Aeroflot
Aerolinas Argentinas
Aeromexico
Air Arabia
Air Asia
Air Canada
Air France
Air India
Air Koryo
Air New Zealand
Alitalia
Allegiant
American Airlines
ANA All Nippon Airways
Asiana
British Airways
Brussels Airlines
Cathay Pacific
China Airlines
China Eastern
China Southern
CSA Czech Airlines
Delta Airlines
EasyJet
Egyptair
Emirates
Etihad
Finnair
Garuda Indonesia
Iberia
Icelandair
Japan Airlines
JetBlue
KLM
Korean Air
LATAM
LOT Polish Airlines
Lufthansa
Malaysian Airways
Norwegian
Phillipines
Qantas
Qatar Airways
Ryanair
SAS Scandinavian Airlines
Singapore Airlines
Spirit Airlines
South African Airways
Southwest Airlines
Swiss Airlines
TAP Air Portugal
Thai Airways
Turkish Airlines
United Airlines
Westjet
Wizzair
WOW Air

Out of them I would pick FR and W6 first. They are the only ones that visit EIN. :P

Used to be BA, but not so sure these days.

If we are going the list above, I'll say Qantas as I've have always been treated well by them.

Of that list, KL. I last flew with them for my move back to Costa Rica last December. They got me two thirds of the way back home (the final leg to SJO was with CM) and with impecable service (that includes CM). Not to mention I got to visit AMS for the first time in nearly 27 years.

LH, BA, AA and UA are fine. No complaints. I have never flown with the rest of that list. But the number one of that is definitely KL.

Never heard of Eremites, Alaskan and Phillip'speen Airlines.

Perhaps some would like to get them a go, particularly, the latter.

I suppose either KE or KL.

For the life of me I can't figure out anyone sees in SWA. They are frequently late, the FA;s are not very good at what little they do, and some of the think they are comedians. Actually some are funnier than others:) The pricing structure and rules are very good but since I don't check a bag it's meaningless to me. For the record I fly them at least one leaf each week and I am a A lister so I do have lots experience riding them.

I have copied the list with the number of flights taken with each airline and class of service flown:

- Delta Air Lines: 315 flights, all classes of service
- American Airlines: 30 flights, all classes
- United Airlines: 46, all classes
- British Airways: 101, all classes
- Spirit Airlines: 0 flights
- Eremites: 2, business class
- Lufthansa: 96, biz and econ
- JetBlue Airways: 0 flights
- Alaskan Airlines: 6, all classes
- Southwest Airlines: 9, econ
- Korean Air: 5, business
- Air France: 885, all classes
- KLM: 70, all classes
- Phillipeene Airlines: 0 flights

And my favourite by far of this list is definitely, not even close: AIR FRANCE!

I like this game. For me there is only one answer, EI.. I'm born and raised in Dublin, and have had family connections with EI for my whole life. the fact they are actually an excellent airline helps also.

For nostalgic purposes, a special mention goes to DL, I remember as a kid connecting in JFK during the 90's from EI and heading down to MCO (or DAB on occasion) so they always remind me of the good ol' days. EI staff travel covered DL (and a few others also).

For actual level of service, its BA.. but its been a few years since I've flown them and I'm told they have let their standards slip... but who hasn't I suppose.

BA for level of service, LOL, good one.

Soon they'll be asking you to pay extra for landings!

Out of the original list Korean (I prefer Asiana but they aren't listed) followed by Lufthansa. In both cases, due to friendly and professional service from all concerned. Cabin comfort gives the edge to Korean between the two.

I like Korean from last year, but in the 1990s, they were poor, in my opinion.

Lufthansa. 100+ flights, not one bad experience. Planes always in tip-top shape, even the oldest short of retirement. They have the best fleet also. The service overall is very good.

Absolutely agree with your comments. Same with Swiss. Beautifully turned out planes inside and outside. Tidy crew too, interiors never look tired either. I enjoy flying with both of them.

They also seemed to have at least one write off or hull loss almost every year in the 1990s. Nowadays they're a world class carrier though.

If that list Emirates, hands down my favourite airline, but my close seconds are Qantas and United. I'm pragmatic enough to know there is no way you can compare EK and UA, their markets are so radically different. United though are a good airline that gets the job done.

BA would have been up there at one point but definitely not anymore

I've flown most of the US domestic airlines, BA, LH, Ryanair, Croatia Airlines, and a few other European carriers.

By far Lufthansa. I took a trip to several countries in Europe when I was 16, and by far my best memory was the flight to Frankfurt in an 340. I got to go to the cockpit inflight, where they demonstrated several systems, and even showed me how turns automatically return to the flight path. When I got back to my seat, there was a bottle of champange from the crew. The FA then asked me if I'd like to come to the cockpit for landing. You can't beat that.

Philippine Airlines hands down. I'm biased i have a love for the A330 and the 77W and for some reason they land so darn smoothly with their Wide Bodies.

My favorite airline from the list is KLM. I live in Mumbai and KLM is going to start service to Mumbai using the 789.
But KLM is not my favorite 'favorite' airline. The airline I like the most is Singapore Airlines. Their new A350 and 777 is awesome. It's a showstopper, probably better than ME3. The economy product is absolutely fantastic. The seat combined with the world class cuisine, 1000+ content IFE, 32 inches of legroom is better than any other airline. My ranking would be -
1. Singapore Airlines.
2. Emirates
3. KLM
4. Lufthansa
5. All Nippon Airways (ANA)
6. Jet Airways (India)
6. Garuda Indonesia
7. Delta Air Lines tie JetBlue

I haven't traveled JetBlue, Delta, AA, Southwest or any american airline but from the pictures I have seen I feel JetBlue and Delta are the best in America.

Domestically, AA and DL. Internationally, BA.

As for WN, I avoid them completely. I can usually find fares that are about the same as other domestic carriers, and I don't have to pay $15 each way for their early-bird check-in. Bags may fly free, but your seat assignment doesn't.

I love Emirates. Been flying them since the 1990s, when they were a much smaller and lesser known airline. Their brand identity , style of service, IFE and catering usually makes for a positive memorable experience. Of course, I've had some bad flights, where service was surely lacking, or I got an older aircraft with outdated IFE. But generally, I love flying with them.
Air France is also a personal favorite-always found their service and meals to be very good on long-haul.
I used to fly BA a lot but past five years or so I feel like they've downgraded, and so I prefer other airlines now.
