MAN only has VS these days, although they do fly multiple destinations with it.

Just realized that by that metric, DTW has only DL, but they fly it to multiple destinations as well.

IAD currently has 2x BA 744s (1x 380/ 1x 744 during the summer months), 1x LH 748, and an additional 1x LH 744 during the summer months. If I count correctly, that is a total of 3x 747s year-round.

El Al seems to fly 747's into EWR on Sundays. Saw one earlier today. That would make it LH & LY for EWR.

If you discount "scheduled charters" IAH only has a daily 74M from KLM.

AKL only gets a summer seasonal KE 748I, that's the only PAX 747 regularly now.

I'm pretty sure we are down to just the BA 747 out of MIA these days.

I think BA still flies a 744 because I saw one recently in March, although I'm not sure if that's changed between now and then.

Is VX the only operator at MCO? I hardly ever make it out there I prefer TPA since I work there obviously. I don't really remember seeing any 747's there except for virgins. Lady Penelope and I have a love hate relationship.

D'oh! How could I forget BA!?

I've been going to school full time in Huntsville so it's been a while since I've been able to cruise past IAH. I was thinking of the recent thread outlining KLs 744 drawdown. BA alternates between 777s and 747s depending on the season.

If you mean just passenger services, we have just the KE 748 service seasonally. AKL has the freighters SQ and 5Y, but they don't really count because you can't fly them for your logbook unless you're a pilot or horse groom.

Lufthansa still flies a 744 unless anything has changed, which is unlikely.

Are we talking scheduled passenger service only? If so, I think for part of the year SEA counts. BA does schedule 747-400's, but not all the time. I think LH is the only 747-400 year round.

Someone got VX confused with VS? At MIA LH is currently operating the 388 to FRA.

That will change in about a month as LH will have a seasonal (July - September) 747 on FRA-DTW.

TLV - only has LY. Used to have LH and DL, but DL now comes with 777 (soon 333) and LH now comes with 321. TLV has some cargo operators coming with 747s but LY is the only airline that has scheduled 747 flights (to JFK, EWR, BKK, LHR, CDG BCN and sometimes DME, FCO and OTP and charter destinations like SEZ and GVA (winter charter)

I was going to say JNB with the 748 from LH, but I am thinking BA has a less than weekly 747 in addition to the daily A380 they send.

BA used to operate a range of wide bodies from LGW, including 747s, 767s and DC-10s. However, CEO Rod Eddington lead a rationalisation programme which resulted in only GE90-powered 777-200ERs being based at LGW, which happened several years ago. All the other wide body jets were moved to LHR.

Royal Air Maroc has a single B744 CN-RGA that flies variously from Casablanca, Rabat, Fes and Marrakesh, apparently.

https://www.flightradar24.com/reg/cn-rga

Ignore Fes, they get ones from Saudia, occasionally. But Saudia's destinations include Lahore, Cairo, Surabaya and Makassar which I expect will be the only B744s they get.

The BA Source is reporting that BA has flown a 744 between LHR and the following 20 destinations in the 30 days up to 22 May 2017:

ACC
BOS
CPT
DFW
DEN
DXB
IAD
JFK
JNB
KWI
LAS
MEX
MIA
NBO
ORD
PHL
PHX
RUH
SFO
YYZ

Destinations like JFK obviously see both more than one BA 747 passenger service and passenger 747s from other airlines. Many in the list, perhaps including ACC, CPT, DEN and MEX usually do not. Here others with better local flight knowledge will be able to reduce the list size. However this is quite tricky particularly with seasonal services. For example BA operates two 747 flights every day to CPT in the high season of early January, one for the rest of the year.

Note that the list from The BA Source could include destinations of any ad-hoc flights including non-scheduled passenger and positioning flights

It doesn't seem that long ago when JAL and Singapore were the biggest 747 operators, but most airlines have either got rid or are getting rid of their 747s. It's all about economics, of course, as a 777-300ER does almost everything a 747 does but much cheaper.

Same goes for AMS. As of today exactly, KL has only 14 747-400 left (of the original 22) and it the only airline that operates the 747 to AMS. (apart from the occasional charter)

While we only see one daily BA flight in DEN, we do get two daily 747s. One from BA, and one from LH. You may be correct about CPT though.

Do not forget BA. Over the years they have operated more than 100 744s comprising 19 741s, 25 742s and 57 744s.

BA started to retire some of their 744 fleet as long ago as October 2008. Yet today they still operate 36 of the type. Compared to their 77Ws these 744s are certainly expensive to fuel and to maintain. However they are very low cost in terms of capital charges as most of the fleet is fully written down to a residual value.

BA's policy appears to be not to retire a 744 until it is due a costly C Check and even then to sometimes put the aircraft through a costly maintenance procedure This helps to explain why half of their current fleet went through a cabin refurbishment programme that was completed just nine months ago. This programme included reconfiguration of the J and Y Class cabins, the fitting of a new Panasonic eX3 IFE system throughout as well as many other changes.
