Foreign Carrier(s) With Most U.S. Destinations - June 2017

Thu Jun 29, 2017 11:30 pm

Hello all,

I understand this topic may have been covered in the past, but I am wondering whether there are any updates. BA seems to be #1, with 28 U.S. destinations, along with LH at 22.

Either including or excluding Canadian and Mexican carriers, what are other notable mentions?

Thanks!
No not that TSA.

Can you list all those destinations too? BA at 28 is amazing when you put it like that!

BA have 25 iirc:

New York JFK
Los Angeles
Boston
Miami
San Francisco

Chicago
Washington
Newark
Dallas
Orlando

Seattle
Phoenix
Philadelphia
Denver
Houston

Atlanta
San Diego
Las Vegas
Tampa
Austin

San Jose
Baltimore
New Orleans
Fort Lauderdale
Oakland

LH have 22, possibly 23 now after the recent addition of SAN. Then there is AF who are in the high teens, though the exact number escapes me.

AC & AM both could well serve more destinations however their relative proximity makes them more obvious choices. Also, Copa serve 13.

In years to come the likes of LATAM, AV, TK, QR, EY & EK will all likely have large US networks whose size will be worth observing, geopolitics dependant.

AC has to be number 1 by a wide margin. BA is up there followed by AM and LH.

BA's has 24 with FLL from LGW due to start on 7 July. This is part of a recent increase in US destinations from LGW, namely OAK and JFK (was a relaunch).

I think that the growth of EK has been remarkable, starting with JFK in June 2004 and now there are 12 destinations. And it's not just destinations: the volume of traffic is big, e.g. four times a day to JFK all with A380s.

I dont see AV travelling to a bunch of cities in USA. Sincerely, I dont see Denver, Salt Lake city or even New Orleans from Bogota. Probably Chicago, Tampa or eithe Atlanta. But no more in AV's metal

Since the OP's question wasn't restricted to the "Lower 48", we can add HNL, OGG, KOA, ANC, and SJU. And, the seasonal YYZ-EGE should be counted also. So, if the AC total is 56 U.S. airports, how does this compare to AC's total number of Canadian airports served?

Surprised that AC does not fly to Sacramento and Reno.

They briefly flew SMF-YVR with CRJs about 10 years ago. IIRC it ended circa 2008 or 2009 with the economic downturn.

CX serves 13 including scheduled freighter ports. Only 6 of those receive passenger flights, though.
Qantas - The Spirit of Australia.

So, interestingly, AC has approximately the same number of U.S. destinations as Canadian destinations.
