Will BA tag my bags to AC ?

Tue Jan 30, 2018 4:53 am

Sorry if it’s a basic question but I have never had an itinerary before that connects me between 2 airlines from different alliances.

I have been booked MAN-LHR-YVR with MAN-LHR on BA & LHR-YVR on AC. The connection is 1 hr 55 minutes at LHR ( T5 to T2 I think).
So a) will BA check me in & tag my bags all the way to YVR from MAN ? &
b) how easy is the connection from T5 to T2 especially if the BA flight is slightly delayed arriving into LHR.

Thanks.

a) If your booking is on a single ticket your luggage will be checked in all the way to YVR. b) The transfer from T5 to T2 is easy, you will need to take the bus. 30 minutes is sufficient from the moment you disembark at LHR T5 until you get to T2. You should check in at the T2 transit dest for AC as soon as you arrive to T2 that is in the transit area for pax connecting for onward flight, don't forget to show them your checked luggage tags to YVR by BA. Bon voyage..

Yes, BA will tag your bags to your AC flight. AC has an interline agreement with BA and many other airlines that allows one airline to carry another's passengers and baggage. Your bags will be tagged all the way through to YVR, but whether or not you will have to claim them in LHR is something you'll have to ask BA when you check in in MAN.

Only if it is on one ticket. BA dont even check through bags on a BA to BA connection if the flights are booked separately.
