Fri Mar 23, 2018 12:43 am

Aerocancun
Aeromonterrey
Air Santo Domingo
Air Berlin
Hamburg Airlines
Shanghai Airlines
Singapore Airlines
San Juan Airlines
Air Culebra
Fly Dubai
Air Astana

Reno Air

Any others??

Buffalo Airways is named after the animal, not the city...so that one is coincidental.

Here’s one though, Air Toronto...a former Air Canada Connector until the early 90s.

Another existing Canadian one is Kelowna Flightcraft.

AB Airlines was formerly known as Air Bristol and actually marketed itself as Air Belfast due its principal route between Belfast International Airport and London Stansted. It also used the name AB Shannon for a while after it opened a base there, admittedly Shannon is small town in Ireland rather than a city!

There was Batavia Air. Batavia used to be the name of Indonesia's capital city Jakarta when the country was still colonized by the Netherlands.

A lot of the subsidiaries of the Big 3 and HNA in China have city names on them---like Tianjin Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Express, Shanghai Airlines, Shenzen Airlines...and as others have said, the main airline of the city and state of Singapore, Singapore Airlines.

Add Air Busan to the list also, which had operated for a fair amount of time longer than Air Seoul.

Another one I can think of is People's Viennaline. There was also Dubrovnik Airlines (no longer in operation).

EDIT: Between HK Airlines, HK Express, and Air HK, its neighbor Macau also has Air Macau and (no longer in operation) Viva Macau. There was also the failed Oasis Hong Kong.

San Juan Airlines is named and operated in the San Juan Islands in Washington state. No relation to San Juan, PR or any city named San Juan. Current named operator also named for San Juan Islands.

Well in that moronic vein, I'll add Air Lincoln that flew out of Chicago since it has 'Lincoln' in it. And it is Bemidji Airlines, not Air Bemidji......

In Russia:

Astrakhan Airlines (Defunct)
Moscow Airlines (Defunct)
Perm Airlines (Defunct)
Samara Airlines (Defunct)
Tomsk Avia (Defunct)
Vladivostok Avia (Defunct)

Probably a few more. To be fair, a lot of these may have been actually named after the oblasts and krais as a whole, which often times have a capital city bearing the same name. But then I guess the same might be said for e.g. "FlyDubai".

Also, Kuwait Airways?

Phuket Airlines (ceased operation)
Siem Reap Air, a joint venture subsidiary of Bangkok Airways, also ceased operation
Also Cambodia Angkor Air comes to mind, but I'm not sure if it count. Angkor is the name of an ancient city, and now heritage site, not an actual city at present.
Fiji Airways
Air Tahiti Nui

Whether it was named for the city or not doesn't matter, just that it has a city's name on its name.

Surprised no one’s said Air Astana yet.

And to the ones proclaiming Air Atlanta Icelandic, that one’s not named after the city but the Atlantic ocean. :)

London Airways, sorry I meant British Airways ;) (well that's how we feel about BA up here in the provinces)

Air Manchester which lasted a whole 3 months before being sold to British Air Ferries

Man Air was going to be a charter airline based out of Manchester but changed it's name to Av8 Air before launch, they also were going to have the callsign "Pennine" but ATC were not keen on that given the existence of "Pennine Radar".

Air Wales
Cambrian Airways
Air Anglia
Provincial Airways (not even going to make a BA joke there)
Jersey Airways
Jersey Airlines
Jersey European
Westminster Airways
Derby Aviation (the forerunner to British Midland)
*had to check Wikipedia and pulled up a few that I hadn't thought of
