747 Classics as of 2018

Hello all! I know there are a couple of post like this. But since it is almost 5 months into 2018, I would like to know how many 747 classics (Doesn't matter if it's a passenger aircraft or a freighter) that are still flying as of 2018. The only classics I know flying is the 2 US Presidental 747-200s that will be replaced by the 747-8i's very soon. As always thank you for your answers and have a wonderful day!

Commercial:

1 747-300 Mahan Air (Passenger)

I don't think any commercial freighters in operation.

Other:

2 Presidential USAF
Nasa has a 747SP
Im sure a few others here and there although not sure. Certainly not many at all.

Air Georgia is operating two 747-200 freighters.
TransAviaExport, from Belarus, is operating a single Boeing 747-300 freighter.
About 10 747SP are active as of 2018.
There's a cargo carrier in Iran operating a 747-200F... and I think Iran Air still have their 742 freighter EP-ICD active.
Iran Air Force still flies their B747-100s ex-TWA as tankers (KC-747). Not sure if they still have this role or if they're used as cargo planes only.

If I remember correctely, one 747-200F ex Kalitta (recently retired) was purchased by one of these obscure ex-URSS cargo airlines too

The cargo airline in Iran you are talking about is Fars Air Qeshm. They have 2 747-200F's. EP-FAA has not been active recently, but EP-FAB has been flying between Damascus and Tehran, carrying "goods".

Doubt those USAF 748's will be in service in the next 2 years

China still has a few 742F's with UniTop Airlines

I believe they only have 1 registered now, and it's stored/not flying.

Feel like the 747 classics have died off quicker than say the 727.

10-11 years ago MIA was full of classic 747s. My all time favorite airplane.

The Saudi Government currently operates 2 747SP and 1 747-300. Not sure if any of these planes are due for replacement soon.

Thanks for all the answers guys as always. It really sucks that between last year and 2021 there will be a mass 747-400 retirements. I have never flown on one before as many had. But hey, at least we have the -8is around plus British Airways keeping theirs a little longer. I hope to get my chance soon. If not, there is always the Delta 747 Museum in ATL...... :duck:. Still, the age of the Queen as a passenger plane is dying like a wildfire on cocaine. A real bummer but that's reality.

I know that the Bahrain Amiri flight did have a 747SP A9C-HAK in their fleet, not sure if the aircraft is still operational though.

Just like here at AMS. One moment the classics were still a common sight, with several classic freighters flying in and out every day, and the next time I looked, they were suddenly all gone... Still can't believe how quick this went. :shakehead: I really miss those wonderful classic 747 workhorses and their deep rumble and I wish I had given them a closer look while they were still there :banghead:

The time has come to consciously enjoy the sight of every 747-400 that we see, before it's too late.

On a sidenote: I think it's remarkable that there are relatively many 747SP's among the survivors. Back in the day, the SP was more or less regarded as a commercial failure with just 45 built, but now there's a chance that an SP will outlive all other classic variants.
