Wasn't ORD-HKG their longest until just recently? Now it doesn't even make the top 5! Or am I thinking back to pmUA?

Yes, that was pmUA. CO had the flights from EWR to India which were slightly longer. Goes to show how the 787 & A350 are changing the game for airlines when it comes to ULH flying,

Interesting to see that SFO-TLV is longer than SFO-SYD (though only by 5 miles). In my head, I always think of the slog to Aus as being really long haul.

It's striking how much more ultra long haul flying UA does than DL. UA's flights to Australia, Singapore, India, and Eastern US-Asia really add to its ULH portfolio. Meanwhile, DL lacks the 787 or suitable hubs for such flights. A much larger share of DL's longest flights are transatlantic on A330's and 767's.

Great thread. I never understand why factual based threads like this get moved to Travel Polls and Preferences. Yet other less factual threads stay in Civil Aviation.

My son just flew on UA SFO-TLV a few weeks ago. High tech centers at both ends, and he works for one of the famous companies. I asked him how he managed that long hike — the company flew him Business Class, so he said it was great!
I suppose SFO-SYD would mentally seem longer because it’s entirely over the ocean, while the trek to Israel has a lot of overland flying.
