My only ever trip(s) on the 747 was rt BOS-LHR on TWA in 1985.

I believe those would have been -200's; I don't think TW ever flew the -100

Not going to remember every variant, but I think
Air Pacific -200
Qantas -300 and -400 (10 times)
Korean Air -400 and -8 (Twice each)
Thai Airways -400
Lufthansa -8
Iran Air SP
Ansett -300
Singapore Airlines -400
British Airways -400 (shortest flight I think - BAH to DOH)
Kuwait Airways -400

I've only done one trip: UA901 - SFO-LHR -400. I remember being excited that it was a 744 but disappointed that it had no seatback IFE (this was before the days of streaming IFE)!

I have flown on the 747. As for the specific type, I don't recall. I do know flying on the queen of the skies in 1978 to visit my granny in Scotland and to make my first communion there, between ORD-LHR. Again in 1984 to visit family in Scotland, it was an open jaw flight, BOS-LHR and LHR-ORD. Before 1978, my memory is fuzzy, too young to recall the '71 and '73 journeys to see my granny. Those early jaunts could have been on a 747 or a VC-10. All flights on British Airways.

According to my Flight Memory, i've logged 91 x 747-400, with BA, VS, BR, UA, SQ, TG, NH, MH, LH, CA & NZ. I did a few more flights when I was younger too. Caught the 747Combi with CA, the 747-8i with LH and the 747-400D (short range) with NH.

My first ever flight was on a 747

My last flight was on a 747

I have flown on a 747 at least 51 times

The sub-type I have flown on the most is the 747-400

The frame I have flown on the most is a 747

Boeing 747-400 flights = 47

Boeing 747-200 flights = 4

Most flown on frame = Thai Airways International 747-400 HS-TGG 'Pathoomawadi' x 4 flights

4 flights = Qantas 747-200 SYD-HNL HNL-SFO SFO-HNL HNL-SYD (my first ever flights)

5 flights = Qantas 747-400 multiple times between SYD-LAX LAX- SYD

4 flights = Air New Zealand 747-400 SYD-AKL AKL-LAX LAX-AKL AKL-SYD

3 flights = Malaysia Airlines 747-400 between SYD-KUL KUL-SYD

4 flights = British Airways 747-400 LHR-BKK BKK-SYD SYD-BKK BKK-SYD

18 flights = United Airlines 747-400 between SYD-LAX LAX-SYD SYD-SFO SFO-SYD SYD-HNL(medical) HNL-SFO(medical) DEN-LAX LAX-DEN LAX-LAX (engine out diversion) + possible other UA routes

13 flights = Thai Airways International 747-400 BKK-HKT HKT-BKK BKK-SYD SYD-BKK

My goal is to log a 747-400ER flight before they leave the Qantas fleet, and to log a 747-8 flight one day.

My first 747 flight was in the summer of 2000, SQ from LAX to NRT. Although I was mostly distracted by the Super Nintendo port, at one point I got to see the cockpit, which was rad.

Yep! All 747's built for TWA were -131's, and to my knowledge, TWA only flew a few second-hand -200's:

Here is my personal database for TWA's 747 fleet over the years - I flew on one in August, 1987, LAX-JFK, and I the 747's in red are the ones that were in service at that time. Unfortunately, there are no records of this flight's tail number, but this list is taken from numerous sources and databases, including airliners.net.

I've only done 747-400

7 flights

1st was LH FRA-JNB in Aug 2000
Between 2003 and 2004 I've done 4 flights with SAA JNB-LHR vv...the last one was a very eventful one, with overnight delay from LHR being put up in hotel, then doing daylight flight southbound and upstairs in the bubble where they had Economy.
Last 2 flights was with BA JNB-LHR and back 2004/5

Some nice lists above.

My first 747 was EWR-LAX on PE in 1983 or 84.

My last was a NW 747-400 from NGO-DTW in 1999.

In between were some UA 747s (all -200s, I think) from SFO to NRT and several CO flights between NRT and GUM.

The model I always wanted to fly on was the 747SP. Bummer that that won't happen.

Flew CA's 747-400 twice JFK-PEK when I was 7. Too young to remember most of it unfortunately. I do remember the registration of the outbound being B-2445, which is surprisingly still active in domestic operations in China.

I didn't travel outside Europe until 2005, but then it was on a 747. So far I have had the pleasure 8 times (counting every leg as one time), and once boarded via stairs at Don Muang which gave me an unforgettable impression of the SIZE of the thing... and since I am flying on my own restricted dime, every flight has been in Y.

747-300
2 legs ARN-BKK-ARN , Thai

747-400
2 legs ARN-BKK-ARN Thai
1 leg HKG-MNL Cathay (equipment change, we were just a few passengers on board, one row to myself)
2 legs ARN-BKK-ARN Thai
1 leg FRA-HKG Cathay

Being from HKG and used to live there, it used to be more like I'm lucky if the flight is not a 747 :white: :white: (At least before 777 took over).

The one I can remember:
CA 747 (Not sure if it's a -400 or not, I was too young), HKG-PEK-HKG, 1995
CX 744, HKG-KIX/NRT-HKG, 1996
MH 744, HKG-KUL, SQ 744 (I believe), PEN-SIN, SQ 744, SIN-HKG, 1998
NW 744, HKG-NRT-LAX; MSP-HKG (Yes, the 8 months or so that they operate that route), 1998
CX 744, SFO-HKG-LAX, 2000
CI 744, LAX-TPE-HKG-TPE-LAX, 2000, may have flow
CX 744, HKG-BKK-HKG, 2001 (A month before 911, remembered seeing WTC since I flew from EWR to HKG on CO's then-new non-stop flight, although that's a 777)
CX 744, HKG-LAX, 2003 (That was during middle of SARS, outbound from US was on a 30% load A346 from SFO to HKG, still remembered that ultra-slow takeoff roll)
CX 744, SFO-HKG-SFO, 2005
UA 744, ORD-HKG-ORD, 2008
UA 744, SFO-HKG-SFO, 2011
UA 744, SFO-HKG (Inbound was on HKG-ORD on UA 777), 2014
OX 744, HKG-BKK-HKG, 2015, possibly the worst flight I've ever been on. Talk about an old, beat up 747.

It's not much but I remember each flight quite well. Especially the memory of seeing the 747's nose up close from our gate at SIN. It's definitely more memorable than the A380!

2007
Singapore Airlines - 747-400 - SIN-HKG-SFO (I don't recall the flight number they used at the time. If anyone does remember, please let me know!)
Unfortunately, the return leg was via ICN on a 77L.

2016
Lufthansa - 747-8i - LH756 FRA-BOM

2017
Thai Airways - 747-400 - TG318 BOM-BKK

The only way I can log another 747 is flying LH on any future international trips or trying my luck with AI. They often fly their 747 on BOM-DEL or BOM-HYD-JED runs.

Many times, many carriers, but most memorable: I once flew KLM AMS to JFK (742, I guess) except a huge snow storm (Feb. '83) diverted us to YMX......was two days before we got out on our original aircraft, then circled over Kingston, NY went bingo fuel so back to YMX. KL crew was now over their hours and took the 742 back to AMS with some freight only, no pax!.Now we had no carrier! We got fixed up on a sked on AR, another 742 with routing YMX-JFK-MIA and EZE. The short hop to JFK was not easy at all as we circled Kingston again for an hour, then landed and taxied in a circle around JFK for an hour, finally arriving 2 days and about 5 hours late.
