ORD-PNQ suggestions

Tue Nov 06, 2018 2:39 am

Looking to fly ORD-PNQ next month. What is the best option with minimum layovers and avoiding Air India?

You could do ORD-DXB/AUH-PNQ on Emirates + Spice Jet or Ethiad + Jet Airways.

ORD-FRA-(GYD)-PNQ on LH. Definitely the easiest way. You'll do your customs and immigration in PNQ as opposed to DEL or BOM.

Recently Lufthansa started direct flights between Frankfurt and Pune, so that might be an option. It's the minimum number of layovers, just one.

For the Chicago to Frankfurt leg I'd make sure it's a Lufthansa flight and not a United codeshare. Lufthansa definitely offers a higher service level than United.

LH did not start recently. LH has operated FRA-PNQ for almost a decade. They just restarted the service that was temporarily suspended for a couple of months.
Also the original FRA-PNQ was nonstop but now the flight has a stop in Baku, Azerbaijan.

So technically ORD-FRA-GYU-PNQ is a 2 stop service.

The only convenient 1 stop service is ORD-AUH-PNQ on EY/9W.

I would rather do this:
ORD-ME/EU-BOM...it's a 2-hr drive depending on where you are going in PNQ from BOM. KK Travels has group and private car options. Unless you are really keen on a 8+ hr NB trip from FRA....

Why would you change from EK to SG at DXB? Not very convenient....better to do BOM on EK and do the above.

Does LH have traffic rights on FRA - GYD and GYD - PNQ? for this flight? I would recommend LH you can ride the 748 to Frankfurt if they're still sending it too, ORD. Etihad is okay, With Etihad you can clear US customs in AUH.

True enough. BOM is the primary international (and often domestic) gateway of Punekars.
