DTW has to be up there, probably close to the top if not No1.

I was based out of Reagan National (DCA) and always thought that it was a beautiful design.

What a general question. Your not going to get a good answer, everyone will be biased and everyone has different taste. This should be in the "Polls Forum" Mods.

Overall, RDU is very nice. DCA is very cool has a mix of model and history mixed together. I found that there are a ton of smaller airports that have really nice terminals, nicer than bigger airports. DEN is up there as well along with IND.

DCA B/C, LAX TBIT, IAD Main Terminal (Departure level in particular), SFO Int'l Terminal.

ORD Terminal 1 would be great if it was modernized

IAD's design, though expanded on from the original, is quite nice. Always a pleasure to see it when driving up to the upper level to drop someone off, especially at night. As an aside, I remember going there before it got popular and you could almost hear crickets inside.

SEA's food court and its view, once it re-opens. IAD...and the departure level, despite being an enormous space, has a calmness about it even when it's crowded.

I like SNA it's a perfect mix of the modern and old-timely feelings.

DTW gets an honorable mention as well.

HNL ... Perfect mix of third world semi-open-air architecture and crappy design. An eye sore. Oops, wrong thread.

IAH is somewhat unique in that it has both, nice new like terminal C North and really old banjos in B North. You get to experience both sides LOL

When I think of architectural airports, I tend not to like many of the newer big airports. THey all seem to look alike. IAH, DTW - they have bells and whistles. But they aren’t really architectural.

IAD and DEN have wonderful central architectural gems. Bradley terminal at LAX is great. Terminal C at Logan is great (though it’s hard to see from a distance these days!)

I'll agree with DTW and also LAX TBIT (rest of LAX sucks although it's a bit better with terminal modernization).

DCA and TPA are probably my two favorites based on past experience.

DCA is so not my taste, with its faux old fashioned detailing. And not overly parctical with crowded gate areas.

ORD terminal 3 - the flags.

and on a side note-
coming down the escalators at Terminal 1 in Las Vegas - nothing screams welcome to Vegas more than that moment.

How about SMF? I was very impressed with Terminal B, and A is not bad either!

Though no longer in use as a terminal, the TWA Flight Center at JFK architecturally speaking remains (thankfully due to landmarks preservation) a masterpiece. It was truly an inspired design that captured one's imagination.
