A220 - Baby 757?

Mon Jan 21, 2019 6:13 pm

Does anyone else see it??? When I look at the A220, I see a miniature 757. The fat engines relative to the fuselage, the soft contoured windshield. I don't know. The A220, IMO, is the best looking new jet in a long time, better than the 787, the A350, and as small planes go, certainly better looking than the ERJ 170/190.

How much fish can it carry?

What? Someone on a.net had to ask!

I rather see the A220-200 as an Airbus A319 on a diet, and the A220-300 as a skinny A320.

As it happens, the other week I saw what I thought was a Boeing 757 coming out of Heathrow, climbing rather high; when I returned home and looked at Global Radar, I discovered that it was an Embraer 190 at a more usual altitude.

That can't be.... the greatest airplane ever can't be remade.. only a 757MAX could do it and Boeing has all the tooling for that, it's unbeatable and the 757 is next to godlike. Like hell a Airbus/Canadian plane can be compared to that.

rable-rable-rable-rable.

Not a bit.

A220 has more resemblance to Dornier Do 728:

But then you have to imagine the Do 728 in the picture with GTF engines.

Weird that this thread and the Ba/KLM thread have been moved here... Both topics which in other forms have stayed in the civil aviation part and are now moved for some reason...

A220 is more like a baby 787. Their noses are pretty similar.

Maybe they didn't trust us to stay "civil" ;)

I always thought that the Airbus A321 was like the 757's younger brother.

737-100's step child is A220?
