With the demise of European Carriers growing larger as we speak who will be the next airline to go bankrupt?

Over the past 3 years, we’ve seen Air Berlin, Monarch, Primera, (Alitalia to a degree) and now Germania (too name but a few)

Who do we think will be the next airline to go bankrupt?

I am afraid that it is [X] though there are several smaller airlines whose name I forgot already at the brink. It may be mere luck which of them is the first.

Of course [Y] is in a continuous bankruptcy but let us not count it as it will be reborn one way or another with the help of the government.

Within two months we will know much more about the future aviation scene, and lot of other things, too.

There are still many carriers in Eastern Europe.

Adria (Slovenia) would be a good candidate. Croatia Airlines too but Croatia is more complicated because of multiple airports / domestic market.

Nordica would be a possibility.

FlyBe is still at risk. Shareholders need to approve the takeover deal in a meeting on 4th March, considering how low the offer is, there is concern it will be refused.

It would be nice to see Ryanair go bankrupt....but that's not going to happen sadly. :)

Most likely FlyBe as stated by another poster in my book. They don't seem to have a coherent business model......and of course they also have arguably the ugliest livery in Europe

Strange, nobody mentioned WOW AIR... In my personal opinion, Aigle Azur is also a top candidate

A few months ago I would have agreed on WOW Air, however they've been taken over by Indigo Partners and are in the process of restructuring. For sure they wouldn't have made it on their own, they were lost and didn't know what to do. But Indigo Partners does know what to do and under their management they might actually make it.

Aigle Azur is indeed a likely candidate.

I've heard some negative things from that direction too. They'll probably get slammed by SAS for not living up to contractual obligations at some point. They grossly underestimated the cost of operating the ATR as well.
