Re: How to find Tail Number from old Flight Thread

Mon May 09, 2022 6:19 pm

Hello due to a typo I want to repost
AF006 CDG-JFK A380 date was 26/09/2011
I had a BA 747-400 flight on the 01/08/2011, if I remember correctly it was an 8PM departure and the last departure to JFK

Didn't find any reg but maybe the flight numbers can help other

14MAY2009 / JFK-MAD / Iberia A343 ( ~3hr connection in MAD)
Could be
IB6250 1800-0710

In Mai 2009 flew according to ACARS the aircraft that flew IB6251 (MAD-JFK) also IB6250 (JFK-MAD)

For IB6251 I found the following entry so that it should be also the reg for IB6250.

15MAY2009 / MAD-FCO / Iberia A321

Thank you. That is great!

Would there be anyway to track down the tail numbers for at least the two MH flights from 2005 in my list?

Or is it likely that there is no way to track that info down?

MH is the only airline I've flown on that I've never managed to collect a single aircraft tail number to log (either night flights or I was too young to keep track of the flight details) :(

Thanks again mate!

Here are a few more missing from my previous list:

Once again, any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you.

For the rest I didn't find anything. Sorry

Asia was not well covered with acars receivers in the old days, as well as Australia. There were some receivers, but they were in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The one from Sydney only goes back to autumn 2005 and that also incomplete and the other two are also only fragmentarily preserved.

But if Malaysia flies the outbound flights with odd flight numbers, then you might be lucky and I found the outbound flight for MH0140.

Thank you for that info... It has gotten me to do a little bit of research...

What does the time of 1930 reflect? KUL departure? SYD arrival?

I do recall back then there was a daily 747 flight which left KUL in the evening and arrived at SYD early the following morning. The MH140 flight on the 777 was 5 x weekly and left SYD later in the evening so must have departed KUL earlier that same day in the morning. So I'm guessing my inbound flight departed KUL in the morning of 2005-10-17.

However, according to some Australia infrastructure data seat count timetable "NS_2005_TT_ Summary" (( http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/sites/ ... ummary.pdf )) there was also a 2 x weekly (can't find which 2 days) 777 flight doing KUL-SYD-KCH-KUL... So I'm not sure if MH0141 was the outbound flight number from KUL for a possible MH0142 as the other 777 flight as I've usually found that the outbound flight number from the hub is 1 number lower than the returning inbound flight number... Not sure if my aircraft on MH0140 would have departed KUL as MH0139 or MH0141... Or, were the 2 days the SYD-KUL 777 flight did not operate the 2 days the SYD-KCH-KUL flight operated which would make sense... ???

Thanks again for your effort; appreciate it!

I don't find any information about which timezone was logged but I guess it's local time due to the following found

Please don't ask why it was not found during my first tries. :?

If the receiver was in Sydney, like you said, the 1930 time for MH0141 could have been when my aircraft was picked up on arrival into SYD and that would leave around a 3hr turn in SYD before being picked up again at 2243 on the departure from SYD. Just a guess

Either way, I'm now confident that MRC was the tail number...

Again, thank you for your help 8-)

Hello this one mught be a longshot as these where flights from nearly 20 years ago and working off stamps on old passports but here goes
Air India 747 LHR-JFK 15th December 2003
Air India 747 LHR-JFK 20th March 2004
Kuwait Airways (I believe it was a 777) 24th June 2004
This one is tricky as all I remember it was an afternoon evening flight, however Im going to try track it down
VS LHR-JFK on 10th September 2003 and if I remember correctly it was a A340-600 however all I remember it was not a 747 and landed in JFK in the evening.
And an Evening Delta flight which was on 3rd April 2010 and certain it left around 5 o clock in the evening LHR-JFK, it was 767-400ER

Hello,

I am trying to find the tail numbers of some Easyjet flights from the early 2000's which I am struggling with.

Easyjet doesn't seem to be on any acars reports at this time for some reason!

It looks like in the past there was a site dedicated to Luton airport which probably had this information on but unfortunately wayback machine didn't save the pages that looked the most useful.

The flights I am looking for are:

Easyjet LTN-ATH 22/05/00 13:15-19:15 U2451
Easyjet ATH-LTN 09/06/00 06:50-09:00 U2452
Easyjet LTN-ATH 18/05/03 22:55-04:45 U2453

Note the first two will be the old Athens airport at Ellinikion.

Any help in finding these would be most appreciated.

Not a registration question, but a schedule/timetable question. Seems to be good knowledge/access to old timetables here, too :)

I requested my entry records from Canada Border Services Agency and found that I had entered Canada via YUL on 2 August 2001 at 9:52am. Supposing the flight landed 25-45 minutes before I could pass immigration, any guesses what flight it could be? I would have been connecting through a US hub from SFO (or possibly SMF) and I guess it must have been a redeye flight from the west coast, then a morning flight from the hub to YUL.

Thanks for any insight provided!

Thanks as always Einheitsdesign, sorry by US hub I meant a hub in the USA not US Airways necessarily. I really don't have any idea of the airline. I guess I may be best off to find an OAG for YUL in Aug 2001 and see what flights are arriving around that time. Just not sure where I could find an OAG or airport timetable.

Re: How to find Tail Number from old Flight Thread

Thu Jun 02, 2022 7:17 pm

Been trying to record all the flights I've traveled on and the relevant tail numbers, but hit a snag with regards to intl flights.

American Airlines 1781 - New York - Kennedy (KJFK) to Punta Cana (MDPC) 2003-12-25
American Airlines 1764 - Punta Cana (MDPC) to New York - Kennedy (KJFK) 2004-01-01
American Airlines 2063 - Dallas-Fort Worth (KDFW) to Cancun (MMUN) - 2006-12-25
American Airlines 2212 - Cancun (MMUN) to Dallas-Fort Worth (KDFW) - 2007-01-01

Was also wondering if anyone could help me in finding tail numbers for US Airways Shuttle and US Air Express flights, specifically:
US Airways Shuttle 6471 - New York - LaGuardia (KLGA) to Washington Reagan (KDCA) - 1999-08-07
US Airways Express 3061 - Wshington Reagan (KDCA) to Norfolk Intl. (KORF) - 1999-08-07

Any and all help GREATLY appreciated.

Hello all, I have been wondering about this for many years and still found no success in finding the registration for the 747 for my flight way back in 2005 when I came to the States as a 10 year old. I honestly don't remember the flight number but this was when Air India was flying the 747-400 from India to US.
The date of the arrival to Los Angeles was December 11, 2005 sometime in evening, around 5-6 pm. The route was BOM-FRA-LAX. The plane was an AI 747-400. If anyone can pull the details out for this flight, I will forever be grateful! Thanks

What I found is the detailed timetable

AI0137 BOM-FRA 0805 1230
AI0137 FRA-LAX 1400 1645

Regarding the tail number: It seems that the plane was not equipped with ACARS because I have not found any track on several Acars reports from this day.

Missing registration numbers help

Thu Jun 16, 2022 8:17 am

Hi all, hope you are well.

Since 2015, I have a comprehensive record of all the aircraft I have flown on, except I am missing four flights - all of which being Ryanair in 2017.

I feel like I’ve exorcised all my options in finding what aircraft operated these flights, so was wondering if anyone knew of any way I can find the registration numbers of the planes which flew the following journeys:

FR3226 Manchester to Oslo Torp January 21 2017
FR3227 Oslo Torp to Manchester January 23 2017
FR2141 Manchester to Krakow June 15 2017
FR2142 Krakow to Manchester June 22 2017

Any help would be gratefully appreciated… and would help my OCD in completing my list!

Thanks a ton!! After a bit of research, I am stoked to find out that VT-EPB was India's first ever A320. Not only that, last year this jet got stuck under a bridge while being transported.
Thank you for your reply. It's a big mystery solved!

Thank you so much for the reply, very much appreciated.

I have double checked the dates (these are some of the only flights I don’t have boarding passes for still, apologies):
Manchester to Oslo Torp was actually on the 20th January.
Manchester to Krakow was actually on the 16th June.
Krakow to Manchester was actually on 23rd June.

All dates 2017.

As ever, any help much appreciated! Thank you!

Thank you!

Here we go

FR3226 Manchester to Oslo Torp January 20 2017
07:47 RYR3226 EI-ENS Boeing 737-8AS

FR2141 Manchester to Krakow June 16 2017 via Return RF2142
RYR2FU KRK > MAN EI-DWK B738 Ryanair 14:28:39

FR2142 Krakow to Manchester June 23 2017

Hello, I would really appreciate if anyone can find these registrations:

Trv-bom. 18/05/2011. Indigo 6E 176(??). A320

I would deeply appreciate if anyone can find the last 2 flights, since these were operated by the unique double bogey A320s specially made for Indian terrain. Thanks!!

And I found also the flight numbers for mentioned above flights

6E 346 Trivandrum Mumbai 8:10 AM 10:20 AM M,W,F
6E 176 Trivandrum Mumbai 11:00 AM 1:05 PM Daily

Thanks a bunch! It is very likely 177 and 176.

I forgot to put in one more flight whose registration I might have got wrong.

Spicejet had leased a jet from Corendon Airlines for the flight. It would be of great help if you could put my doubt to rest.

Recognizing aircraft reg on fotos

Sun Jul 03, 2022 12:06 pm

While trying to find out the specific aircraft that I travelled on a long time ago, I had no success looking through ACARS data. But now I found two fotos that may help. The quality isn´t the best, but maybe the numbers on the landing gear doors can be recognized- or maybe there is another clue? I am not certain and hope someone can help.

The first one was taken in June 1996 in FRA.
Image

This one was taken in August 1993 also in FRA. It looks like 547 to me. According to databases that can´t be right. 647 would make more sense and point to N647US.
Image

I would be very thankful for help/advice!

Right - I've been trawling the various locations for finding tail numbers and have thoroughly enjoyed the process. I am stuck on several flights and am hopeful one or two can be found by posting here... I'm going to try my luck in a couple of places but while timetables, Flightaware, Planefinder app, acarsd.org, lhr-lgw.co.uk, skystef.be, BTS, flightmemory etc have been massively helpful, they have drawn blanks on some of my flights (but sometimes helped with flight times, operating airlines etc). I regret binning many of my receipts for the flights (many were with work) during a clearout a while back...

Anyway - good luck and thank you in advance...

The Sydney flight was definitely on a Boeing 747, and I believe it was a 747-300. The Cairns/Brisbane flight was on a Boeing 767, and I was told by a Qantas employee that it was a “Y-configured” 767-338ER (25J/204Y configuration).
If you would be able to find these, I would be so grateful! Thanks in advance :)

Thank you very much! I thought it was B-LAH, is it posible that was it?

Good that you mentioned it. I checked it again and found a second track for CX0738 on this date.

2013/01/02 03:03;CPA738;CX0738;DXB-HKG;B-LAH;780209;Cathay Pacific;A333

And B-LAH makes more sense since the logs are in UTC. Sorry for posting a wrong information first.

For the NRT fllight: I don't know any source to solve it.

That’s all good, thanks anyway!
I tried reaching out to Qantas but their customer service department is really terrible :(
