Quick question regarding upcoming MAX flight

Wed Mar 13, 2019 11:20 pm

Assume you are booked WN ELP-LAS but you have a stopover in PHX, and plane change. The first leg is a MAX flight (ELP-PHX). Will WN just have the plane that pulls up to the gate be a 73W instead of the MAX, with no difficulty, or should something else be done?

I looked on WN's website and this specific flight pair is sold out. (5551 / 5070, March 30th)

Thank you to any answers

You’re talking about something two weeks away. With that said, yes. They will simply operate with another aircraft or cancel the flight.

This route is almost always flown by a 73W so that is why I thought there wasn't anything I should do. How can you tell whether or not it will be operated with another airplane versus cancelled?

You check the flight status on the day of the flight.

No one knows today what’s going to happen in two weeks.

You can change your flight for free. So if there is a time you like better. Change it. If not then just wait it out. They probably will do a plane swap.
