Condor? Safety and experiences

Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:20 pm

So I'm flying with Condor from Heraklion to MUC in May. Booked on their 753 and I'm curious, how are their on time and safety records? Anyone had any experiences with them?

Never had the experience of flying Condor, however in terms of safety it's easily traceable.

Their last fatal crash was in 1988

They're a holiday airline like any other, nothing wrong with them. I have flown them once (twice actually, a return flight) and both times the flight was on time. Safety is fine.

Suffice to say that people in Germany still care a lot about Condor, or else they wouldn't have been outraged when Condor was renamed into "Thomas Cook powered by Condor". That outraged caused Thomas Cook to rename it back into Condor and eventually even reintroducing the Condor logo from the old Lufthansa days (at least on nose and winglets).

Safety, no problem. On-time, I dunno - only flew them once (FRA-PIT) and had no issues.

I only have positive (childhood) memories flying them to vacation destinations.
The Condor brand is very well known in Germany and probably the most recognized and trusted airline after Lufthansa.
There's absolutely zero worries I'd have flying with them.

I believe Lufthansa is attempting to reacquire them now

The Condor DC10 and B747 aircraft in the polished aluminum and yellow livery back in the ‘70’s were
stunning
