OAK to DFW on AA - 1 flight per day

Sun Apr 14, 2019 7:27 pm

I recently flew on AA from Oakland to DFW and was a bit surprised that there is only one flight per day between the two cities on AA. There are multiple flights between SFO, SJC,SMF and FAT and DFW so I am curious as to why AA does not offer multiple daily flights between OAK and DFW. Oakland is located right in the middle of the Bay Area with its business and tourist travelers so on face view it seems like multiple flights to DFW would work out of Oakland.

Thanks for your comments.

That one nonstop is cancelled as of next month, with only connections via PHX to fly OAK-DFW.
Obviously AA has seen the market cannot support nonstops to DFW and beyond so obviously the SFO, SJC and SMF's have the flights.
OAK connections obviously set to route all via PHX so better use of that airplane in some other city.
watch what you want. you may get it.

That's a temporary max-related suspension. The route is resumed as of June 6 (although it would likely still be a risk to book until the fleet is 100% again). They added a second flight last summer and maybe would have again without the max issues.
