What do you mean?...

AA/DL operate out of IAD, EWR, LGA, DCA, BWI, and JFK... which are the DC and NY market?

Alaska as well. Unless I'm misunderstanding something here...

Edit, apologies I didn't see that you said US carrier.

AA fly DCA-BDA and DCA-NAS, and B6 fly DCA-NAS

No. AA serves The Bahamas, Bermuda and Canada from DCA in addition to their plethora of international destinations out of NYC.

If you change "internationally" to Europe, South America, and Asia then yes United is the only one.

Why most of US folks only think of long haul flying when thay say "international" ?

AFAIK in the rest of the world an "international" flight is the one where you go outside the borders, in other words, everywhere you need to carry a passport to fly to.
