Why is Delta´s DTW-NGO service and A330 and not an A350?

Mon Jun 10, 2019 5:46 am

According to FlightAware https://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL ... /KDTW/RJGG why is Delta's DTW-NGO flight an A330-200 instead of an A350-900? Wasn´t the plan to have all DTW-Asia flights will switch to A350-900? How come DTW-NGO stayed as an A330 while DTW-NRT/ICN/PEK/PVG were switched to an A350?

NGO probably cant handle all that extra capacity. If they could, im sure DL would use the 767-300ER on that route if it had sufficient range or what not. Just my guess

2018 Jan-Nov daily average passengers were 169.68. Average load factor was 72.4%. (Source: US BTS)

This pretty much explains why.

It’s mostly an aircraft touting setup. The plane flies onwards to LHR/CDG when it comes to DTW. And yes, I would imagine an A350 would have too many seats, even when NW flew a 744 on it.

NW was able to operate the 744 by filling up the plane with cheap onward connections to MNL...
We don’t care what your next flight is.

Does DL still fly the 777 out of DTW?
