Lack of direct service Singapore-Moscow

I need to soon fly from Singapore to Moscow and I was shocked to find out there’s no direct service between the two cities. Does anyone know the passenger volume flying between the two cities and the potential reasons for the lack of direct flights?

There is. SIA operate a A350 I think 5x weekly. It continues on from Moscow to Stockholm.

So now you'd rather be shocked that you didn't do your flight's research properly.

SQ362 operates 5x weekly SIN-DME on the A359. Maybe you checked SVO.

Might want to change your search engine :)

SQ361 and SQ362 are the flight numbers. Just booked some seats on the flight myself actually.

There used to be a SIN-DME-HOU, I saw the 77W at DME on a number of occasions.

This changed to SIN-MAN-IAH which resulted in the end of SIN-MUC-MAN (just became SIN-MUC) and the DME route became SIN-DME-ARN. All are now served by the A350.

That flight is somehow hard to book and ridiculously expensive though, especially if you fly from ARN. They could cost 3-4 times more expensive than the ME3 or TG (~6000SEK vs ~18000SEK) between CGK and ARN.

And the SQ flights are usually the cheapest way to get from Stockholm to Moscow or v.v. A great value for money and an opportunity to fly a 5th freedom widebody intra-European flight.

That claim has been made here previously, and I don't really get it. Oooobviously you have to look for it on dates when it operates (as has been said, 5x weekly), but look what a search on my favourite search engine got me in matter of seconds:

SEK 9983 for random dates. Same dates, for any airline (removing the filter for SQ) gives SEK 7306, but with a less direct routing and an additional change of aircraft:
