Top 10 757 routes

Tue Jul 16, 2019 4:00 pm

After countless threads about the 757s, I saw this and I thought it would be fun to share.
Some people don't like to fly long distances on the 757, but others like me do. So take a look at this list of longest routes where you can still fly on a 757, if you want.

https://airlinegeeks.com/2019/07/15/lon ... _2HWcS6Nw0

My last TATL flight on a 757 was two years ago with AA from CDG to JFK. A nice memorable flight. I was supposed to fly CDG-ORD on a 777 connecting on a 737 to LGA but the night before they rebooked me on that direct flight which was a 757. Oh boy I was soooo happy!

Have fun.

...Is that article even valid?

It sets all of the routes' distances in nautical miles... but when checking on gcmap, it's the same distance but in miles instead of nmi: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=ewr-arn

Also, AA's DFW-KEF flight should be the third longest flight. http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=dfw-kef,+pdx-kef,+iad-mad

Unless they're missing another route...

Not the best article...

EDIT: And finally, the 10th flight, they list it in miles :D while everything else is still in nmi.

Interesting that AA only has one flight in the Top 10. Barely. DL has one at #7. FI has a couple but the rest is UA. So when is UA going to order the 321XLR?!?
Finally headed to DORKFEST! Sept 7, STL-LAX-PHX-STL. :cloudnine:

Also missing from the list is

DL JFK-DSS at 3,830 miles
UA EWR-LIM at 3,631 miles
B0 EWR-ORY at 3,649 miles (La Compagnie)

all of which are longer than #10 on their list - so in other words, no the article is not valid.

No... they have EWR-LIM listed there.

EWR-ORY is now on a neo.

JFK-DSS is on a 763. Don't think it's been a 752 for a while now?

I believe JFK-DSS is a 757 in the slower season, 763 in the summer. But I could be wrong. EWR-ORY is a mix of 757 and 321neo for now. And I missed EWR-LIM, oops.

As for longest route ever operated (not a one-off) - I believe it was ATL-BSB on DL at 4,170 miles. Not sure if that took longer time-wise than TXL-EWR westbound in the winter though.

EWR-NCE on B0 is still running and on the 757. It is 4,007 miles and thus they missed the longest flight.

DUB-MSP on EI is on the 757 at 3,735 miles and they missed that too.

And EWR-ORY is not completely neo on B0...there are still 757 flights in the next few months until the retirement of the aircraft.

Looks like they just listed DFW-KEF and DUB-MSP...

Love that they edit the article as criticism pops up on this site, but don't bother to credit anyone who corrected their article. Absolute garbage.

Interestingly lol. I commented on that article asking why DFW-KEF wasn't on there and now it is.

Just e-mailed them about an hour ago, looks like EWR-NCE is now on the list :D

KEF-SFO is also regularly a 757, although it's mainly operated by the 767. I guess these are 757-only routes.
Nothing compares to taking off in an empty 757 with full thrust!

BDL-DUB on Aer Lingus is a 757. But hurry up and fly it, because as of 8/2 the flight will be operated with an A321LR.

Unless I'm missing a key component of this article, it's about longest 757 routes in general and not about just transatlantic flights, so EWR-LIM seems valid unless it's no longer flown on a 757?

Also, fly out while you can because next spring DUB-MSP is supposed to switch to an A330.
As of Dec 2018 I've flown 417,862 miles on 250 flights on 51 airplane types with 55 airlines traveling thru 97 airports in 43 countries. I've visited 59 countries. 2019 is looking like a pretty decent year for me.

It's about all 757 routes. EWR-LIM is already listed on the article.

And... it looks like next spring it doesn't switch to the A330 until May 1st. It'll still fly as the 757 before that.
