AF 732 combines SSG and PNR flights, why?

Wed Jul 17, 2019 3:38 pm

Hello,

Does anyone have reliable information as to why AF732 is now stopping in SSG en route to PNR, thereby effectively combining these two destinations?

Refueling issues? Low passengers?

thanks

Oil industry services, combining the routes as it’s very specific passenger count.

There is more to this I am sure. Air France mentions reasons out of their control. They wouldn't say that if it is just low yields, which i doubt, as it is the only connection to Europe.

Also another flyer posted having several cancellations with AF in Malabo.

I fly this route often as my inlaws live there. The only other competition at present is ET.
TK will start on 30th July.

And it happened quite suddenly with timetables showing cancelled flights. If this was a planned change for low yields I don't think it would have shown like that.

Joining two destinations isn't uncommon. It could be decreasing passenger count in both SSG and PNR from increased competition (ET and TK), low aircraft availability or the aircraft can make more money somewhere else.

Thanks the aircraft availability could be a clue, since they are refurbishing the 332 now.
