Defunct airlines flight 1
Flight 1 tends to be a very prestigious and important route for any airline. It’s easy enough to look up what flight #1 is for airlines that are still around, but I’m curious what flight #1 was for all the defunct airlines that have come and gone throughout the years...

The hard part with some historical airlines is that it changed on a semi-regular basis. For instance, Midway had DTW-MDW-MCI as their original flight 1; later it was changed to DTW-MDW-STL then DTW-MDW-DFW and later down the road (near the end) they dropped all one and two digit flight numbers. Sure, it always involved DTW-MDW as the first leg but where it went from MDW changed often.

Continental Airlines Flight 1 was IAH-HNL with the return being flight 2.

Concorde is defunct, though the operating airlines are still around...

NW 1 always consist of a LAX-NRT sector for years. Beyond NRT, though, it varies from PEK/PVG to later SGN. At the end, it was back to LAX-NRT only IIRC.

Midwest Airlines was the MKE-LGA nonstop at 7:40am - ish. Biggest cash cow for the life of the airline.
It's kind of funny -- Midwest Express was over 2 years old when they got LaGuardia yet it's like they "held" the prestigious single-digit flight numbers for someday getting LGA.

I don't have access to my old AN timetables but I'm pretty sure AN1 was SYD/MEL. I'm not sure which direction, or if continued onto other destinations, which a lot did back then.
