Preferred airport for Clemson

Tue Oct 01, 2019 7:09 pm

Hi all,

I have to attend a wedding near Clemson, SC next year, and I may need to travel onwards to a conference in Texas afterwards. I know that GSP is the preferred airport, but I am worried prices might be high for a multi-leg trip involving GSP. Would it make more sense to fly into/out of ATL or CLT, and then drive from those airports? Or is the traffic/drive annoying enough to warrant the extra price from GSP? Keep in mind that my friend and I have to rent a car anyway - the wedding is in quite a rural place.

Thanks!

Fly into Charlotte. I've made that drive a ton of times, both from CLT and ATL, and flying into CLT over ATL is what I'd choose if I had a choice. It's an easy drive and there's never really much traffic (unless you're going on a day when Clemson has a football game).

I fy almost weekly into Clemson. GSP is by far the better choice. 45 min to Clemson. Non stops to both IAH and DFW for your Texas trip. The airport is a snap to use.
I would never consider ATL or CLT to go to Clemson.
