Airlines operating just one single route

Sat Nov 16, 2019 4:32 pm

Just booked my first flights on Air Sinai for Cairo-Tel Aviv-Cairo. This is Egypt’s “phantom airline”, a government-owned subsidiary of Egyptair operating unmarked aircraft on this unpublicised route so that Egyptair doesn’t have to be seen to be operating this socially-sensitive route. As this is the airline’s sole route, it got me thinking as to whether or not this was the only airline in the world serving just a single route. Any others out there?

Wasn't Omni International's only scheduled route LAS-HNL at one point?

Nantucket Airlines is now owned by a larger airline but it only flew from Nantucket to Hyannis. And still flies that single route under it's brand.

There’s an airline called „People‘s“ based in Altenrhein, Switzerland, and it‘s only scheduled service is service to VIE up to three times daily. They do operate charter flights as well but VIE is their only scheduled service (E170 Aircraft).

Air Antwerp.
Very young airline (recycled VLM Airlines) and backed-up by KLM.
Operates ANR-LCY only, up to 3x daily.
Heck, they have just one single aircraft, a 29 years old Fokker F50...
Britten Norman Islander VP-FBR on Falkland Islands. THAT'S FLYING!

Doesn't Hahn Air only operate one scheduled flight.

Which is the amazing one you can book and is like a private flight in a biz-jet.

As far as I know it's never been a scheduled flight, always a charter.

Air Guratian flew from Hyderabad to Bengaluru for some 11 years. It was their only route. Air Guratian has closed about 17 years ago after a military confiscation of their one and only aircraft

The Hahn Air route is a legal loophole to keep their licence. Alliance Airlines used to have one scheduled route ex PER- again a legal requirement.
On a slightly similar note, KLM Asia for TPE flights. Honourable mention to now discontinued AF/BA/SR/QF equivalents (LH doesn't count as Condor had other uses besides TPE).
