8 hour layover tonight at midnight. Any ideas?

Mon Dec 02, 2019 3:57 am

I can't generally sleep at airports -- and LAS would be even more challenging! Two questions:

1) If there IS a relatively quiet, comfortable place to sleep at LAS, where might that be? Or...

2) If I want to try my luck playing a few games on the strip (and I'm sure the casinos will be dead), should I head over to the Luxor as it's close?

Opinions appreciated!

....last minute booking on NK from BNA to SAN. 14 hour itinerary. That's a good idea. With only 8 hours in Vegas. I'd worry about missing my flight though. Departing now. Hopefully I'll see some more input in 4 hours Cheers, and thanks in advance!

It's been a few years since I've visited Las Vegas, but you should probably stay away from the strip if you want a quiet place to sleep. And downtown, for that matter.

If you just want to kill some time in a casino, Luxor's probably okay, but you'll also find lower minimums and maybe better odds off the strip, such as in downtown (where I normally stayed). https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/top-ten/ shows $1 blackjack at Oyo, which is off-strip but close to LAS/Luxor.

Thanksgiving weekend, i'm not at work so I can't see the rates, but they won't be cheap if they have any. Better bet in a last minute cheap room is one of the local casinos, Orleans, South Point, Sam's Town or Eastside Cannery.
