Airplanes are, of course, built to fly. While the interiors of some private aircraft approximate many of the comforts of home, airplanes actually make terrible buildings. The windows are tiny and they tend to bake in the sun with little ventilation, while the all-metal fuselage leaks heat in the cold. Not only that but the odd shape with the curved walls is suboptimal for a building, but necessary for pressurization.

That's why we rarely see this kind of plan turn out to be very successful.

Love the 727 but it was my second home for six years, that was enough

Living on one, or any other metal container (rv’s anyone) is not appealing

He’s not really made the best use of the space, just filled it with junk.

That 727 home has been around a long time. I'd say it's been at least 15 years, and likely more like 20. He had a website documenting his little "project".

When you read his website in detail, he freely welcomes visitors, let’s you fly drones on his property with express permission, spend the night there for free etc.

Sounds like a very nice bloke indeed.
