Nickname for the Embraer positions in AMS?

Tue Jan 28, 2020 3:58 pm

A thread more for fun than anything useful.
When KLM still had lots of Fokker 70/100 on the ramp, I heard that part of the ramp was called the "Fokker Field". That stuck in my head and got me thinking if maybe somewhere else there might be some "Airbus Acres" or "Airbus Alley", "Boeing Borough", "Bombardier Boulevard", "Canadair County", "De Havilland District" and so on - I guess you get the idea. Even "McDonnell Meadows" wouldn't be too far off, I guess.
What I couldn't find is anything that would match Embraer, as nowadays the Fokker Field mostly features Embraers. Are there no words for a place or area starting with E that might make sense? Can anyone give me an idea?

If I recall correctly the area was called "Fokker Farm".

As for Embraer, "Embraer Enclosure" - "Embraer Esplanade" - "Embraer Exile"?

Too bad they decided for the E2 over the A220. Canabus Field would be so fitting!

A silly and tired cliche as Embraer is in the Southeast of Brazil with no jungle around for much more than 1000 mi...you probably imagine Brazil as a big jungle where people assemble aircrafts with sticks and bundles of straw... :rotfl:
