It is a source of mild frustration for me that I never did have the chance to fly into Montréal Mirabel before it went all-cargo.

However, I did land at Stapleton in 1993.

I only have two, but to me they are both of note:

BFL and their atrocious but fascinating old terminal. This was converted into an FIS international airport for Mexicana, but flights there didn't last long. The terminal sits unused, collecting dust. But I walked across that tarmac to the airstairs to board several UA 727-100's and 737-200's, as well as AA MD80's.

Fayetteville Drake Field was a stop on the milk-run flight I took as a child in January, 1975. We flown BFL-LAX-DFW-FSM for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary (UA to AA to original Frontier), and now we were returning FSM-Fayetteville-JPL-MCI on Frontier to connect to TWA MCI-LAX, to be finished by a UA LAX-BFL. Tiny little airport with a quick landing and take-off. I still pass by it when visiting family in Northwest Arkansas, if I take the old 71 to/from the Fort Smith area.

old CAN and ATH

While not an entirely closed airport, or even terminal, I did depart and arrive in and out of DMK T2, which was closed from 2006 up until around 2015/2016, shortly before it closed down in 2006.

Matter of fact, I went there in around 2013, and through the temporary walls and windows, there are still signage from 2006 left over(eg. check-in signs for UA back when they still flew there around that time), but I returned there to catch a flight to CNX 5 years later, and it's just domestic LCC flights by that time.

As I flew ETH-SDV on one sector, it means both airports, therefore the route, I think the airline (AYIT) and very nearly the aircraft (Short 360) are no longer in service / operation.

I stayed one night in Plymouth and - of course - my visit was primarily because of Air Southwest but it allowed me to tick off another UK regional airport from my list as well ...
Didn´t see much of Plymouth unfortunately as I arrived in the afternoon (by train) and departed early in the morning (PLH-NQY). That was in 2006.
Had another trip on SZ/WOW in 2009 (BRS-NQY-LGW)
... and I´m glad I did it especially because Air Southwest was a really good airline and PLH was a nice experience as well.

Luckily my local airport (Mannheim, Germany / MHG) does still have scheduled flights (Do328 to TXL / HAM and seasonally GWT)

Stapleton is the only airport I've flown into that no longer exists.

I did once fly into Winston Salem, NC (Smith Reynolds Airport) when Piedmont still served it. It no longer has any commercial service so I guess it counts?

N6399U was later destroyed in a mid-air collision with all loss of life on August 24, 1984. https://aviation-safety.net/database/re ... 19840824-0 I photographed it on the ramp at Santa Maria, CA not long before that tragic incident.

I really miss YXD (Edmonton City Center and before that Edmonton Municipal, also had a time as Edmonton Industrial)

I have lost count of the times I flew from there to Calgary and the approach over downtown Edmonton and then Kingsway garden Mall was fun. Pacific Western would usually have one flight a day on their schedule that stopped at YEG on the way down to Calgary and I would always hound my father for us to take that flight. I forget how long it was airborne for but I see it was about 14 NM
