Only United 747-400. Didn’t really like that. Noisy inside and antiquated interior fit out even for the time.

It makes you realise how good we have it with large screens and sophisticated entertainment systems at every seat these days, even sometimes just on a domestic Boeing 737-800.

Air Canada maybe. There were two times long ago when I took an AC widebody, but I honestly don't remember the type.

The first was in March 1983 flying YYZ-TPA and a return TPA-YYZ. I was pretty young at the time so I don't remember the type, just that it was a widebody.

The second was in August 1992 flying YYZ-POS. I've learned that that route was usually run using a 767, but this flight might have been upgauged because the BWIA plane that I was supposed to be on went technical. I vaguely remember at 4 or 5 across the the middle section where I was seated.

Swissair 747-300
JFK-GVA
ZRH-JFK
Lovely crews. Went as an exchange student. Flew in economy of course, but had the best meals I’ve ever had on a plane.

I have only flown on three, but they were all memorable:

August, 1987: TWA flight 840 LAX-JFK on a 747-100 (possibly a -200, there is no way to confirm). Until its demise, TWA had, without a doubt, the best catering.

May, 2004: United Airlines 747-400 LAX-ORD. I went solely because I had a feeling it would America's last domestic 747 flight. And it came pretty close! And once the flight crew found out what an enthusiast I was for the 747, I got a private tour.

June, 2017: Lufthansa 747-800 LAX-FRA in business class upstairs. Everything I could have hoped for - I'd go again anytime!!

I've got a trip report somewhere on here somewhere...

Well, not so many for me, but somehow they are all quite memorable!
1988 - crikey. After leaving LHR on an AZ A300, then B742 FCO-BOM-SIN-MEL-SYD. I remember a crowd of us down the back smoking - yikes!
Back home 18 months later BA B742 SYD-SIN-LHR
Then 1996 I think, with work on a trip to Thailand. TG B744 LHR-BKK, a domestic BKK to HKT, home again BKK-LHR on B744.
2 years or so later, big Aussie trip all with QF (16 sectors all told), including B744 LHR-BKK and back home BKK-LHR.
Another trip down under to see bro in-law - this time BA744 LHR-SIN-MEL-SIN-LHR
And my last one a couple of years ago to see some pals and go sailing in RI - homeward on a BA 744 BOS-LHR.
All wonderful trips.

Qantas' B747-400 VH-OJP and Cathay's B747-400 B-HOW most recently in 2005. More QF B744s before that though.

The only 747 I've flown was the -400 with KLM. Quite enjoyable to board and disembark via air stairs and see the big plane from the ramp. :)

747s are somewhat lacking for me, and boring:

-100/200 AC, Wardair
-200M AC
-400M AC
