If There Was Only One Airline Left In The USA

Wed Feb 19, 2020 5:33 pm

The airline that would beat ALL competition because of Good Service - Alaska Airlines.
Why endure the nightmare and congestion of LAX when BUR, LGB, ONT & SNA is so much easier to fly in and out of. Same with OAK & SJC when it comes to SFO.

I very much doubt it. While Alaska might not be the worst airline out there, it's not the best either. When it comes to good service, Southwest would stand a chance. They're a whole lot bigger than Alaska and known for good service. More so than Alaska Airlines is.

On top of that, there are customers who don't give a sh*t about service but just want the lowest price. Those end up with Spirit and Frontier. Alaska can offer all the service they want, these customers won't care. As long as there's an airline who can undercut them on ticket price, they won't win them over.

In this hypothetical, I'd want it to be Southwest. I happily drive by AA's fortress at DFW to fly them.

Only flown Alaska a couple times, not bad. Delta is tolerable.

Though you would be limited in where you could fly with a 737.

"Is next...DAYWEAR!!!"

if you know what that means, then you know that one airline would be an atrocity.

If not, here it is:

That commercial is still hilarious today! It was soon surpassed however by "Where's the Beef"!

Joe Stottlemeyer started the Wendy's "Where's The Beef?" series in 1984, as I had just started working at a Wendy's a month before. Everybody would say, "Where's The Beef?" to me, thinking it was the first time I had ever heard it. Loved the series of commercials that came afterwards - especially my personal favorite, "parts is parts" for their chicken nuggets - but it took a while before people got past that catch phrase. The Soviet fashion show, however, was more towards the end of the 80's, and might even have been one of the last in the series.

If there was just one there would still be numerous threads here discussing how they should merge

If there was going to be one airline in the US give me UA’s hubs, route network, and fleet including UAX (but throw in the A321) but with DL’s customer service, leadership team and reliability.

If WN was the only airline left, I'd drive.
