Did UA ever serve CDG with the 747?

Tue Mar 17, 2020 6:33 am

There are a few photos on database of a UA 747 at CDG? Can you tell me where UA flew the 747 to CDG from?

UA was still flying 747-100s to CDG in 1997 in the old Bass livery.

Well, there's plenty of photos of UA 747-100/200 at CDG in the database, taken during the 1990s, so I think it's safe to assume UA regularly flew the type there.

Hopefully these types of questions aren't what's keeping you up at night!

All credit to STT757. Check this link, it has plenty of information on the subject.

Yes they did. I remember one day, in the summer of 1993, I was on a train going from Brussels to Paris and when passing by the CDG area on the way to the train station in the city I spotted a United 747 taking off, a Classic one not sure if it was a 100 or a 200, in the Saul Bass livery. It was going to IAD, ORD or SFO one of the three for sure. At that time, the 777 wasn't in service yet, the first one was still under construction, and most United planes were still painted in the Saul Bass livery.
