KLWS. Lewiston idaho. Right next to a neighborhood. I think the local bar is above the terminal.

Pretty much the same goes for Mannheim (MHG). They don't have a bar but there's a gym in one of the hangar-adjacent buildings as well as a breakfast/brunch restaurant across from the terminal entrance. The annual traffic numbers are pretty similar to Lewiston's too.

To get into the city center you can either take a tram taking around 5-10 minutes or walk, which would take around 35 minutes to get all the way downtown but if you're lucky enough to live in the neighborhood right next door you could be home in 2.

I have a bitter soft spot for LGA. The airport itself is hell on earth especially the old parts of the American terminal. But the landings are always unique, especially the approach up the Hudson and around Yankee Stadium. Also, the American Express Centurion Lounge is a treat with its nice views of the tarmac and good food.

Depending on how one defines "in-town" BOM is an airport that is very much in the city of Mumbai. Not close to the central financial/business area but still inside the city.

Another one in Europe, Germany to be precise, is Bremen (BRE). You can walk there from the city center in 30 minutes, 15 minutes by bicycle.

And don’t forget the streetcar that stops right in front of the terminal - and happens to stop right in front of my office, too.
When I have boarding at 5 pm, I leave the office at 4.20, hop on the streetcar and almost have direct boarding :)

LIN is cool as well. Best cappuccio I ever had and it was not overpriced.
I remember flying from SDU as a child to São Paulo and will never forget this airport. The scenery is breathtaking.

GVA is also very close to downtown Geneva indeed.

I must mention TXL. It will be missed.

SLC is close to downtown, depending on traffic how long to drive

Wouldn't call that exactly close. Definitely not the furthest, but it's on the edge of the city. Pretty average location for an airport.

However from what I can see this airport can only be accessed by car, which is a huge downside. The other airports mentioned here can all be accessed on foot from the city. In other words, you can walk straight from the terminal into the city. Impossible to do that in Salt Lake City.

If you want an "in town" airport, don't mention the word driving.

There is rail.....every 15 minute departure, 20 minute ride to downtown......here in the U.S. 10-15 minutes in a car is nothing, while it may look on a map to be on the outside of town, consider that the valley is long north-south and the airport is due west 8 miles on an Interstate expressway.

MFE is close to downtown McAllen, and the general aviation sector is across the street from a large shopping mall.
