What replaces LH 346?
Hello! I am interested in what LH decides to put on its FRA-HKG routes during summer 2020. I am scheduled on LH 797 in J and as of today, it remains a 346, which AFAIK, are all stored indefinitely. Being on the route at least once a year, anecdotal evidence suggests high loads in F. Post Covid, the only F remaining planes with F are 747-8 and 333. The former might be too big and the latter lacking range. All the 359s are based in MUC. Would LH just surrender one of its post premium markets with F to CX? LH796 for my flight to HKG in July is now an A343 which is as old as it gets with LH, can't imagine it being a long term solution.

If you are talking the fleet, it is shrinking (reduced frequency and some cut routes). HKG will fly, probably on an A359, eventually that route is probably going 779. Some A346 routes will become 789 routes. Possibly HKG until it recovers.

Nobody flies F at the moment. If you would fly F and need to fly you use a private jet.

All LH A330s are FRA based, and none have F.

The last time I flew on an LH A330 with F was in 2014. The last aircraft to get the F cabin removed was D-AIKM, which was reconfigured in March 2018.

Easy answer. Some routes are cancelled, the rest will be flown by a mix of A333/A343 from FRA and A359 from MUC.
Long term 789 from FRA and A359 from MUC.

That sounds like a self-imposed constraint quite readily overcome. Among other solutions, observe that lots of carriers with bases at XXX fly XXX-YYY-ZZZ to avoid having bases at YYY.
