DL...SYD

Will DL keep LAXSYD? I see they are parking the 777, so if they are keeping it, will it operated by A350900?

Yes, they are keeping it. DL is buying two refurbished KC135s from the MI ANG and stationing them at HNL. They are also adding refueling probes for midair refuelings to the 359s. That way, they can carry a full load of passengers and "meaningful" cargo on the run.

I heard they were also making arrangements with the RAAF to access its MRRTs for refueling in extremis.

On a serious note, The Australian PM indicated yesterday that borders are likely to remain closed to most international arrivals for up to 12 months, so it will be interesting to see what the market is. VA won't be flying international, so if the partnership continues, DL may do OK when people can travel on the route.

I cant see the border opening for Americans until well into the latter half of 2021 at the current rate.

And by the re opening, demand will be low at best. Depending on the competition, i wouldn't be surprised if DL pull the route

So it seems, 3 X a week for now. In addition to UAs daily flight makes for a total of 10 weekly flights between AU and USA.

They have turned it in a new Island Hopper service

LAX-HON-TRW-NAN-SYD.

Would so take this if this was real.
