Some planes with long production spans

Tupolev Tu-154: 1968-2013

Airbus A300: 1971-2007

Boeing 737: 1968-present

Boeing 747: 1969-2022

DC-9 series: 1965-2006

I know there are some planes that had poor sales like the Shanghai Y-10, Mercure, Douglas DC-5, etc... but are there any others with short production life?

**** and before anyone catches this, the DC-1 is omitted. It had only a sole unit produced.****

I suspect 1) the eve-of-jet-age turboprops, such as Vickers Vanguard (44 built) 1959-1962 and Lockheed Electra 2 (170 built) 1957-1961, and 2) the Convair 880 (65 built) 1959–1962, & Convair 990 (37 built) 1961-1963

Lockheed L-1649 Starliner produced from 1956-1958. I imagine the DC-7C was similar.

A340-200 - 1993 to 1998. only 28 built. That said, this is a specific model of the a340. The overall 340 has had a much longer life

most of the planes above were just prototypes, they never entered full production

Same as A330-800neo -- 2 built for KU.....1 ongoing assembly for UR (none delivered yet). If no further orders come due to COVID -- in danger of being a very short-lived production run. :spin:

How long did 747-100 production last? I think the 747-200B was the most successful model until the 400 rocked up, but I can’t see the 100 selling anywhere near as well as the 200 which only appeared in very early 1971.

I have taken the OP question as to production span, ie production run, the amount of years a type was produced. For Concorde that was 13 years across the variants.from first into service to Last To enter service, would be 1976-1981.

Either way 13 years to produce 20 of them, and 5 years to get the 14 production aircraft into service which is a lot longer then other types as stated above, even tho it was a short production run.

I agree with bigb, counting variants is going to be a mess. Then you'd have to look at each and every 737 and A320 variant, like the 737-600 and A320-100, and account for when exactly these sub-variants stopped being offered by the manufacturer.

Technically, the CRJ-1000 was in production right until the line ended in 2020. They just didn't land any orders for delivery after 2018.

That is part of the 757 family, which sold 1981-2004 (23 years). I think it sold a year longer than its predecessor, the 727. That was from 1962-1984 (22 years).
