Having grown up in the 1960s and having a British mother, I was able to fly the 747 quite often. Because of 5th freedom rights on JFK-LHR, I flew the B747-100 and 200 series on BOAC/British Airways, Air India, El Al, Kuwait Airways, TWA and Pan Am. Other 747-200 I flew on were Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Thai, Cathay Pacific, KLM and Royal Air Maroc. Swiss air and Varig 747-300. On the 747-400 I flew British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Canadian, Northwest, KLM, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Air Pacific, Lufthansa and Philippine Airlines. To this day, it remains my favorite to fly on and to,watch.

100/200: Pan Am and South African.
300: South African, Sabena and Egypt Air.
400: South African, British Airways and KLM.
SP: American.
8i: Never.

Qantas have retired theirs in 2020, a few months earlier than planned due to Covid. Air China also operate the 747-8 and some 744s. Korean and Lufthansa will operate the 747-8 for a number of years yet.

Either a Malaysian or Singapore 747-400 from LAX-TYO-SIN/KUL but this happened when I was hardly even 2, so don't barrage me with details on the flights and all that. Only reason I know this is because of my parents telling me.
