London City, that's as far as my list goes.

I've been to London multiple times, always through Stansted. However while I was in London anyway, why not take the opportunity to visit this unique airport?

There are some general aviation airfields which I've visited but never flown through, but they don't qualify for this question.

Luton, Southend, Norwich, Exeter, Manchester and Liverpool.

This was in the days that you could walk into airports.

Riddle: I made a connection in AMS but I have never flown into or out of AMS. How did I do that?

Answer: I arrived in AMS on a train and connected to another train.

The connection at AMS was on the same platform which is underground. Because of that, I didn't see any airplanes at AMS.

Only one: CRK airport, to pick up some relatives from a flight. I have passed by other small minor airports by the road but I don't think that counts.

Daytona Beach (DAB) is the only one with RPT service that I can recall.

Back when I worked for a cargo airline, I got a tour of a company aircraft on the ramp at JFK

I used to spent a good amount of time at POU (Poughkeepsie, NY) and was a regular at the annual airport open house

I've attended the New York International Airshow at SWF

Visiting the Udvar-Hazy Center put me within a stone's throw of IAD

Airports I've driven past:

Newark
Philadelphia
Baltimore
Dover AFB
Waterbury-Oxford
Westfield-Barnes
Westover ARB
You can always go around

Oh yeah, there's all kinds of stuff going on there - just referring to the NAS status. Corrected for accuracy.

Taipei Songshan is another one - visited it but flew through Taoyuan on the way out.

I think I've only got two, KCPS (St Louis Downtown only really gets Charters) and KBLV (Mid-America Scott AFB), the second being for an airshow and the first for a college fair or something like that. I can only really think of four times besides those where I even went to an airport with out intending to fly and all four of those would have been KMBT which I have flown out and back from.

CWA - Central Wisconsin/Wausau. I've tagged along to pick up and drop off relatives when I was a kid, but never flew there.

If we include airports without commercial passenger service:
MCC - Sacramento McClellan (formerly McClellan AFB). Visited the Aerospace Museum of California.
SVH - Statesville, North Carolina. Attended a hot air balloon event there as a kid.

Berlin Tegel
Berlin Schönefeld
Berlin Gatow
Malmö, Sweden
Duxford, UK
Paris Le Bourget
Stettin, Poland
Værløse, Denmark
Karup, Denmark

Museums or fields that host airshows explain most of them.

Just remembered a couple of Northern Arizona airports, one I went to eat at their restaurant and another I stopped at to take photos of their DC-6s in Western and Pacific Airlines liveries. (Which this site surely would not accept 4 their dbase)

Hmm, here's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Portland (PDX)
Boeing Field (BFI)
Paine Field (PAE)
Bellingham (BLI)
Hana (HNM)
Waimea-Kohala (MUE)
Hilo (ITO)

I've swung by PDX/ITO/BLI/HNM/MUE in the past just because I was nearby and wanted to check out the terminal/do some planespotting, and as for PAE/BFI I've been there for events and to visit museums on the airfield.

I guess that depends on what your definition of visited is. I'd say LaGuardia, but I've never been inside the terminal, merely just driven in and out of there.

Lots of smaller fields in the UK - I'll count the ones I've at least stopped and had a chat / coffee at:

Bodmin
Biggin Hill
Bristol Filton (now closed)
Fairoaks
Farnborough
Kemble
Northolt
Popham
Redhill (I need to change this, it's a mile from my house)
Rochester
Southampton
Staverton
Woodford
Yeovilton

International:

Camarillo
Chateauroux
Cuatro Vientos (Madrid, SP)
Daytona Beach
Gostomel (Kiev, UA)
Monastir
Oxnard
Paris Le Bourget
Perpignan
San Luis Obispo
San Luis (Menorca, SP)
Tekapo (NZ)

I think this just demonstrates that I'm uncontrollably attracted to windsocks and airport signs.

I'll count airports that were a deliberate destination, not just ones I've driven past.
ROA - went to school there, picked some people up from the airport, but it's close enough to home (plus no BWI-ROA flights) that I never had to fly in.
BUR - went to see their museum and do some planespotting. First time seeing the Salmon Thirty Salmon.
DMA - does it count if I went to the Pima Air and Space Museum? I guess it's not technically at the airport.

Flew in to MIA but picked up the bags in FLL.

I think I visited BNA when I was 4ish.

EFD and the former NAS Millington for air shows.

CYVR Vancouver. I lived in Seattle 2004-2006 and took advantage of the Quick Shuttle service round trip from Washington State to British Columbia and return since I didn't have quite the funds for a flight on a birthday overnighter. It operated from Sea-Tac to the Vancouver Airport.

SPI for the 1989 Springfield Air Rendezvous.

ORL Orlando Executive Airport in 2002 to have lunch at a restaurant within the airport with my then-girlfriend. We both worked at Disney-MGM Studios at the time. I remember we were in the patio arrangement and I would be saying to her "That's an USAirways MD-80" etc. from the MCO departures. Unfortunately we went our separate ways in 2004.

Only a couple for me. I picked up a hire car at Denver airport and had a coffee in the terminal building at Shoreham.

I have been into one of the buildings at what was Croydon airport the original London airport, that is now a hotel - but the site has long since stopped being an airport.

Here's what I can think of. Excluding situations where I just drove past on the freeway, and excluding minor general aviation airports:

Duluth (DLH/KDLH) - for an airshow almost 20 years ago
New York-Kennedy (JFK/KJFK) - at least been close enough to pass through the Howard Beach subway station, where the AirTrain connects and planes passed right overhead. (I've also been through Jamaica station but that's quite a bit further away so I probably wouldn't have counted that.)
Knoxville (TYS/KTYS) - picked up a friend who flew there, but I drove there
Nashville (BNA/KBNA) - had dinner at a place that was literally adjacent to the airport fence, close enough to see the runway and some planes take off
Paris Le Bourget (LBG/LFPB) - went to the museum. Also technically the only time I've been on a 747 or a Concorde as I walked around the museum ones but have never actually been on any of their flights. (Still hoping I can snag an actual B748 flight someday.)

My one time (attempting) to fly from DSA ended up with a cancelled flight due to fog.

I made it through security and was at the gate, but nobody boarded and we were all sent away to try again the next day. It was only meant to be a short trip anyway, so I canceled.

CAK, MTH, TRI, and PSE. I did a time-building cross-country to TOL, but didn't go into the passenger terminal.

MGM - driving my family from Springfield, MO to the Citrus Bowl in 2014. Planned to split up trip and spend night on north side of Montgomery. The front windshield of the rental SUV developed a long crack while we were at dinner. Had to swap SUVs at MGM the next morning before continuing the drive.
