They walk a fine line from classy to tacky. For example sometimes their crews are impeccable professionals. Other times they come across as vacuous & chavy. Another pain point for me is Virgins A330's ... the fit out for the upper class cabin contains a wall, next to the galley, that is diamante studded. It looks incredible cheap & tacky/ Virgins own lounges are some of the best in the business & the quality of their products shines through.

It does very but I think that's what they want!

I've only had good experiences with them so far though.

I think that while classy, they also seem to act as a good counter to what so may see as British Airways' being a bit stuffy, for lack of a better term.

My experience with them was they offered good value for money, with good and professional service, while managing to be cold and indifferent while providing such services. To me it was a curious combination, one pretty uniformly offered by the various employees I interacted with. It really left me wondering how that was so.

The last time I flew them, Branson was on the flight to SFO and he walked throughout the cabin talking to his customers. Now that was classy.

To me it's more trendy than classy.

Define ‘classy’? That a subjective value, surely?

I know some people (admittedly older) who will not have anything to do with anything branded Virgin because the6 find the name itself offensive and loaded with sexuality.

For me, no, VS are not classy. I find all that pouty-red-lips, tight-uniforms and high-heels, sex-as-commodity schtick very off the pace and stuck firmly in the 1980s in these post #metoo times. VS needs to grow up a bit. Do we really need to see ANOTHER publicity shot of The Bearded One flanked by sexy female cabin crew in tight uniforms? It definitely is not ‘classy’ in my view, no matter how good or bad their onboard experience may be.

Hell NO! Classy? Provance summed it well, a fine line between classy and tacky. VS always has been tacky.

Their image to me is slick rather than classy and somewhat stuck in the 1980s.

When they started, their approach to on board service was refreshing compared to the competition but now ( by which I mean just before Covid back in 2019) it is good but Doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

Most things described as ‘classy’ are anything but

When they were a young airline, VS was in a class if it’s own. “Upper Class” was a totally different kind of experience than anything else out there.

Now, it’s no different from what others offer.

It depends on your own social class and your perceived aspirations.

I think Virgin Atlantic is classy in Michael Scott's version of the word, "like the opening of a car dealership...or Mr. Peanut."
