Which countries will open their borders this summer without quarantine?

Thu Apr 01, 2021 8:24 am

Your guess?

Do you think there is a chance the US open its borders to European countries?

Best regards

Well Greece has already started the ball rolling say from May14 anyone with a vacination are welcome.

Orlando Fla was always a great pull for the Brits with thousands going each week, the local area must be missing the revenue but the infection rate in the US is still very high. Maybe in September if the infection rate comes down more.

Iceland, Republic of Georgia, Uzbekistan are a few I've seen that are allowing visitors bypass quarantine who have been vaccinated. There are others, too. Egypt is another, I believe.

I've found this site to be helpful with understanding restrictions and such.

Isn't Maldives open for passengers who have a negative test and a random arrival check?

Given the fact that the pandemic is once again worsening, I am afraid this summer may be even worse for international travels than the previous one

The problem with all of this is that it has to be a two-way system. For example, if I’m from country A and want to visit country B then the borders need to be open easily and freely both ways. It’s all well and good if country B lets vaccinated travellers from country A in without hassle, but if Country A requires everyone arriving from B to go into quarantine then I wouldn’t bother making the trip.

UK may allow travel (without quarantine) from as yet unspecified countries from May 17. You’ll have to take a test on arrival which could cost £60 per person. Good money is on Israel and the U.S being on the “green” list.

I would like to travel to KIX from the U.S. once Japan is re-opened to tourists and UA resumes SFO-KIX nonstop service. When will Japan re-open its borders to tourists?

Japan appeared to reduce its risk appetite with its second wave. For the US and other countries with very high infection rates, I'd expect that high vaccination rates and vaccination passport will be key to border reopening by countries with lower rates.

Needless to say, Oceania won't be on this reopening list, although there are discussions about extending "bubble: travel to some lower infection countries, including Japan.

I would NOT expect Australia or NZ to open to the USA this year. [But I have been wrong before]

Absolutely right!!! I’m praying to see SXM reopen before the last quarter of this year, but if the friendly island is open while my home country remains under the current rules for international travelers ( in Chile where I live you have to stay in a sanitary hotel for several days after arrival, this is compulsory no matter if you’ve been vaccinated or not and no difference regarding where are you coming from ), I have no chance to travel, so you are right, this is a two ways road and I have my serious doubts about the forseeable future re leisure travel... I really hope I’m wrong !!!
