Hi all,
have not been on here for ages but do really need some good advise on following. My wife and I are going to take our 6 children to NZ for skiing in September. At this stage only Jetstar has uploaded flights with competitive air fares with QF and NZ completely uncompetitive at the stage. VA have not uploaded any flights at all.
We are looking to fly from OOL (preferred) or BNE in to CHC leaving September 20, 21 coming back 7 days later September 27, 21. Fare with Jetstar approx. A$ 3700 for all 8 of us with 20 kgs checked luggage for each of us.
Here comes my question. Would you book at these fares with Jetstar out should I wait a bit longer for VA, NZ and QF to list more flights ? Will that actually upload more flights for September ? So many questions and nothing seems to be predicable at the moment so just would like to have some opinions or insights, if possible.

I can't see anything in my crystal ball because this year is unpredictable- who is to say the NZ bubble will remain open? You are requiring 8 seats during QLD school vacation time- if I was in QF/NZ yield management I wouldn't be giving it away- why should I- there's a captive audience who doesn't have many travel options open to them at the moment. IMO the JQ fare is reasonable.

Personally I'd jump on the JQ fare it works out ~$232 a head each way with bags. I can't see it getting any cheaper especially during school holidays.
