MSY to Antarctica on Four Seasons A321

Tue Jun 08, 2021 5:48 pm

I’d say sign me up but it’s a bit out of my budget. Still, pretty cool to see. Sounds like an amazing trip!

Looks like the flight to "Antarctica" (King George Island, actually) would need to land at SCRM/TNM, which has a 1300m gravel runway. Can't imagine that's a lot of fun with an A321.

"A cool $190,000 per person, based on double occupancy. So a couple traveling together would pay $380,000."

That's a lot of sugar...

Costs include;

"The highest category deluxe rooms at each hotel, with the option to further upgrade at a cost"

Bless...

I wonder what the probability of successfully landing is. It is very weather dependent. Antarctica trips usually have multiple itinerary possibilities based on weather

This looks interesting but a little stressful. Seems like you could fly first class somewhere and stay at a Four Seasons resort for two weeks for far less. Maybe this is being used to convince people that Four Seasons Hotels by themselves are actually a good value?

I can’t imagine an A321 doing that, period.

And don't forget a few bills if your flight is canceled due to the weather, for example for your lawyer

True. Maybe that is why they offer trip insurance.
